Discouraging
It's so discouraging to learn how uninformed these voters are. No wonder the Busheviks won: ignorance loves ignorance.
-
So what
Who care is Obama does share Rev. Wrights views? What views are they talking about? Let the bigots be specific.
I still think the REv Wright attacks is all about race.
There must be some educated whites in WV.
-
Another question
Are poll takers specifically asking about Rev. Wright and if they Why? Isn't that sort of keeping the race baiting alive.
-
stupidville
the morons that answered these polls couldn't respond to "how many fingers am I holding up". But they're hard working white Murkans. This is beyond irrelevant. the largest net gain billary will get fromt today is ten delegates. If we had 75 states, she might have a shot, if most of them were populated by old ignorant honkies.
-
Call 'em all racists...
... because that's a great way to persuade people to change their votes, ya think?
-
west virgina made themselves look like fools today
Their repuutation as country bumpkins is justifyed.
Like newhampshire voting for clinton because she teared up. Do these people realize who ridiculous they look to the rest of the country/world?
-
It's a problem of demographics
I used to live only 30 miles from where the white supremacists held down fort in North Idaho.
As I understand it, when this band of merry racists packed up shop and moved to West Virginia; they raised the aggregate IQ of both places.
If West Virginia now is anything like North Idaho then, it should come as no surprise that outside observations point to a hopelessly backward culture so far bereft of connection to the present or future.
-
@Jeffersonian - Their vote counts just as much as yours
Quit calling voters morons. The power of their vote weighs just as much as yours. Instead of putting people in places like WV down, you need to be reaching out to them to try and understand why they vote the way they do. If you need justification for this, look at how we treat/treated supporters of President Bush.

it's an embarssesment brian
To the rest of the world. We are the leaders of the world, righ tnow. The world looks to us. We are supposed to be the nation of many toward a common cause.
e primus unum
These republcain nazi's are not just destroying democracy in america. they are detroying it world-wide. For money (low taxes) or power. To destroy your nation for money or power used to be called treason. The gop, fox, rush, hannity,o'reilly, bush, rove, rumsfeild has made treason mainstrem to many people. they feel treason is patriotism. huh? Up is down black is white.
What a horrible day in our histroy. What year is it again. 2008? Did I wake-up in the twightlight zone or what? Are we in early 20th century russia? What the hell is going on here?

W Va is the Bible/Hate Radio Belt
W Va is an area where during the day it is almost impossible to get any radio that is not pro-Republican, either from a religious p.o.v. or from a talk radio p.o.v. It is in these areas where the under-the-radar talking points have the most affect.
By "under the radar", I mean the unofficial campaign to portray Obama as the Muslim Anti-Christ. I am not making this up. There is a very active campaign with this theme, using local talk radio, email chain letters, and church whispering campaigns.
These charges are so crazy that even Drudge won't pick them up .. but at least 10% of Americans have heard them, probably a lot more.
-
So? You still have to reach out to them
We are a nation of many towards a common cause - E Pluribus Unum, ("from many, one"), however that includes all of us. The poor, the rich, the uneducated, the educated, the black, brown, white, the gays, and the straights.
What do you want to do? Put the uneducated down? Back them into a corner and insult them? First, what does that get us? How did that help us win in 2000 and 2004? It didn't. Also, the people voting tonight are Democrats - put them down and where do they go? To the Republicans.
You can't expect everyone in the country to be educated to the level that you find acceptable. As a party, we need to reach out to those voters and try to find common ground to get them to come to our side - ignorant of the issues or not.
-
To me, it's not about that
Willful ignorance is not to be pity. People like those who voted today in west virgina, are the ones keeping us in 1950 america. decades in the past. I agree with you.
But these all or nothing people are not willingly to grow or change. it's one thing to say they are uneducated. billions of people are. But they strive for a better life and future. To grow. If people are content to remain racists or ignorant, ho wlong do we wait for them to join america/reality? Forever? We already have waited decades if not centuries.
this is not the coutnry our founders founded. The gop has turned america into a fascist police state. I pray obama wins.
Otherwise millions, I fear, will flee persecution and strive for freedom like our ancestors did. But rather than coming TO america, people are going to flee persecuting leaving america. How did this happen to our country? who is responsible? the media? fake false phophet religous teachers? Sad day for us all.
I hope west virgina suffers as a result of this today. What do they have, in terms of state produt or tourism? hopefully that market is done for them. It's a risk/reward game these people play. Without consequence there is no risk, only reward. time to reverse the game on these red coat confederates.

West -my home -Virginia
I did not vote for Hillary.I am a nurse so I talk to a lot of people-a lot. Some were honest-I could never vote for a black man.
Most said things like -no experience-no foreign policy knowledge. The usual crap. But it is racism pure and simple.
I wish it was not like that here, but it is.
We still have areas that white people refer too as nigg** town.
Of course not to the people who live there.
I told a lot of people that they could vote for Obama once or twice or vote for four more years of bush.
Obama 08
