But now he's the hero.
Salon's coverage is so one-sided to this Empty Suit, it's ridiculous.
He won the black vote in Indiana and North Carolina. Considering there is next to no white Democrats in North Carolina, it wouldn't take much to win 30% of them there - all six of them.
Meanwhile Hillary swept everything Dems had lost since her husband ran for President and proved she can kill McCain in a general.
But as usual Nobama getting more of the lockstep black vote is somehow newsworthy.
The candidate stays, somewhat, but only somewhat above the fray, while his surrogates do the dirty work for him. Without his knowledge, of course (cough). Sorry, too late for Obama to be a 'uniter'. That one doesn't fly anymore.
RIGHT ON!
RIGHT ON!
POWER TO THE PEOPLE!
RIGHT ON!
damn, he's good.
...I hope I am there with marshmallows when Obama wins the nomination and you two self-combust.
Otherwise McCain will win in a sweep.
Looks like if the trend continues he may get the same popular vote advantage that HRC had in PA.
and NC is going to go down to the wire... nothing changes
Obama gave a great speech- a presidential speech, and Lanny Davis is a really sore loser who filibusters and wears his outsized sense that Clinton should win, despite the numbers, on his sleeve.
He is a rather maudlin and rather nasty sore loser, who knows the truth and is angry because the truth is that his candidate has not, and can not, beat Obama.
Davis is correct in stating that the party must reach out to the blue-collar, working class voters who traditionally have been a strong part of the core of the party, but Lanny's perspective (like Clinton's) is retrospective, and melancholy, and is limited by his myopic perspective on how this should, as opposed to does, work.
There is a new political dynamic, and the party has to bring parts of the traditional base along and embrace them. Funny, because it is like a child leading the parent, who is aged and a bit infirm. That's OK, though, as long as the parent has understood that s/he has to share and get along with people who are "different,' even if they are, in fact, the same.
Thanks.
Even die hard Repubs like my brother will not vote for McCain. They can see that McCain is nothing but a senile Bush. Obama is going to be the Dem candidate, and, I think, the next President of the United States. My brother and other repubs like him will either vote for Obama, or, more likely, will sit it out.
The only people who will vote for McCain are oldster, racist, mean, vindictive Clintonistas.
He can't win anyone, I mean no one , not even outspending 4:1 except for blacks who vote for him cause they (mistakenly) think he's one of them. And of course latte liberals who just want to make sure we front a loser again so they can whine for another 8 years.
Indiana is done. hillary's got it. Despite the Obamateur outspending her 4:1 she won anyway. That was the tie-braker.
It's over. Nobama should resign. Nobody in the real world wants him at all.
This is amazing. I'm so glad to be here for it.
It's over for you trolls. NObody wants you. NObama.
There's not a sane superdel out there after tonight that can't deny he can't beat McCain and she can!
Indy was the tiebreaker, and Mrs. Clinton SMOKED him with all but the black and college kid vote!!! Every last county!!
She's the nominee.
Or in words you vulgar creeps like to use : get your lube out.
Blah, Blah, Blah. I wish I could be inspired, I wish I could feel
"it". I just can't. Speeches aren't going to fix whats wrong with this country. Its going to take hard work and a lot of it.
Barak Obama with his very limited experience has not shown an inclination for working hard. Of course we could find out
about all of his hard work but alas all of his Senate records are "missing". Just like "W's" service records. How come no one asks
about these records. Must be some real dirt in there.
I'm a loyal dem so I will vote for him as I throw up in my mouth a little.
I am glad to see that you are finally capable at having some fun with this and seeing the ultimate prize - we're in a great position to win in November.
I mean, did you see McCain today at Wake?!?! Talking about appointing conservative judges while hinting at overturning Roe?
In case you are not being ironic ion the face of what - at 11:11 EST - is a possible Clinton loss and probable tie in IN, plese disregard this message. Because you'd be hysterical to keep this level of fanaticism up.
But I think the best of you, and our party, and the common sense of the American voter who cannot want Bush III.
Do Republican trolls get paid overtime by trying to pick arguments so late at night or are they paid per word?
That HRC continues to look much stronger when discussing policy than spewing talking points?
Also, that her speech sounded, in many respects, almost note-for-note the same as Obama's
Doesn't argue. (S)He drools.
What parallel universe are you talking about?
It's okay, she must not have inhaled. Looks like Hillary's winning margin is getting slimmer all the time in Indiana and people are holding off on calling it for her.
Understand this, I will vote for Hillary in November if she's the nominee. I voted for Bill twice and do not regret having done so. I've just found her campaign so far to be a distinct turn-off, even though I acknowledge she's been hit with a lot of sexist crap.
I will never vote for McCain. And doubly so if he's stupid enough to pick Condoleeza Rice for his running mate. If she hasn't sold her soul to GWB, she's at very least given him a long lease on outrageously favorable terms.
I have to say I like a gracious winner. It's easier than being a gracious loser, I admit, but it's been in short supply in politics. Graciousness is something we can always do with more of. Contrary to what Hillary and Obama supporters have screamed at each other through the Pennsylvania campaign, I'm not voting for Obama because I think he's perfect or because I expect to always agree with him, or that he'll always do exactly the right thing. So far so good, though. He's made a good impression on me and continues to do so. I don't give a damn WHAT his middle name is. I can think of worse things for a presidential candidate to have in 2008 than some insight into Islam, however long ago it was. Compared with the stifling Right-wing religious atmosphere of the last eight years, I 'm not that fussed about Jeremiah Wright and his theology--find it kind of refreshing actually. I'm not voting for HIM for President, and freedom of religion including where to worship even applies to presidential candidates.
Justbeth, I'll go fifty-fifty with you on those marshmallows, if you like.
