  • No There, There

But you're right, lolcait is definitely trolling and sidetracking from the article.

    -- Xrandadu Hutman

The problem is, what is there to say about it? The video was faked and should be a non-issue.

  • @senorplaid

senorplaid: "The problem is, what is there to say about it? The video was faked and should be a non-issue."

    Agreed!

  • Oh, geez

This is not good for "Obama people". Some of us jumped all over this, which was not only stupid, but irresponsible. I have a feeling this did not originate from the Obama camp. It's extremely clumsy, something meant to trigger the "he's playing the race card" comments.

  • Altered Transcript

Koppelman owes his readers an apology.

He presents the ALTERED transcript of what was said, without bothering to note that the transcript is altered, and that other words are clearly audible that provide context for what was said.

    here is an actual transcript...

"Look at Indiana — 42-40. It doesn’t matter if we win; those people are shitting…oh excuse me...[garbled] in the White House. How would you like to be [inaudible]"

Kantor apologizes to the cameraman for cursing on camera, says something garbled related to the cursing, then finishes his thought with "in the White House".

Koppelman's failure to note that the words "in the White House" are CLEARLY AUDIBLE in the video allows readers to think that the transcript provided by the scamsters is, in some sense, accurate. Its not -- and Koppelman needs to correct the record ASAP.

  • My son thinks Kantor says "Texas"

What Kantor said in 1992 really isn't important, but-- I think I was wrong in my earlier post. I thought I heard what he's been accused of, but it's possible I was expecting to hear it- and so I did. I'm no expert and it's so garbled -who knows?

My 12 year old listened with un"primed" ears and heard "worthless white Texas." Larger picture-- it doesn't matter as much as what the candidates say- and do and think about issues.

Thanks for your response. I hope you are right.

  • Hutman

A few weeks ago on one of these threads (i can't remember which) someone who claimed to work with our favourite 'cat posted a message saying "don't believe lolcait, his name is Mike and he's voting for McCain, he's just trying to get you guys riled up" or something to that effect.

the message passed the sniff test, so I tend to believe it.

    cheers

  • @debaser

I don't doubt it. I imagine half the regular trollers are probably Republicans who like to see Dems and liberals fighting each other. It certainly helps their side.

  • Of course we know what racists say when no coloreds and negroes are around..

yeah we know what is said.....

  • Kantor didn't say it

Kantor didn't say the N word, nor did he appear to be demeaning the voters of that state. He was obviously saying that those in the White House must be shitting themselves at the way Bill was racking up the margins.

I am pro Obama, but I don't see how this has anything to do with Hillary. Obama will win because he's better than that.
