Even the idea is hypocritical
Hillary cannot do anything to 'heal' the divide, because (1) she and Bill worked so hard to create it, and has been seen or believed to be seen doing so, such that some kumbaya harmony words now would only be seen as an additional act of insincerity or hypocrisy, or an indication that she thinks she has already gotten all she can from trading on the divide. Any comment by her of the kind suggested would open up the issue of what she has already done in the race, which does not aid her. (2) She still needs that divide desperately to prop up her death-throes candidacy. She is counting on West Virginia and Kentucky to give her cred with super delegates and at least two substantial wins. She might try it later if she thinks she is winning, but by then it will be much too late.

She's Cooked the dDmocratic Party
With all of the race-baiting and racial opportunism, including having her very vocal supporter at the NAACP invite Jeremiah Wright for a "flo' show" the other day, Hillary Clinton has made certain that John McCain will receive the largest African-American vote since Lincoln.
No, there is nothing that she can say to "heal" the party. The one thing the Democrats have played up with black voters since Reagan was how racist the Republicans are, how the Republicans use code words and "Willie Horton" campaign tactics against African Americans, and further racially polarize this country. So, McCain picks Condi Rice as his running mate, and "sexism/victim" trump card goes out the window, right behind the "Republicans hate Negroes" card that the Dems have relied on for a quarter century.
Now what's she going to use if she's the nominee? And what do you think the Republicans will use against her, and the Democrats running doe congressional seats?
Hillary is a polarizing figure by very nature, which is why the party has abandoned her. If she were clearly a uniter, and running on her own merit, and a decent human being, she would have wrapped up the nomination back in February.
Oh, and using Bill Ayers against Obama? Well, there goes the Progressive vote. They may not vote McCain, but they won't come out in droves for her.
I'm African-American. I've voted Democrat in every presidential campaign since '80.
I wouldn't vote for Clinton for Head Shit-Shoveler, let alone POTUS.

Let Obama Do the Healing -- He Caused the Problem
You want Hillary to make a healing speech on race? When the entire reason for the issue being in the campaign is Obama's dishonest, untimely and incompetent handling of the Wright issue? How many of you Obamiacs have called Hillary a bitch, vicious, monster, whatever -- shouldn't your guy make a healing speech on gender?
The ignorance, abusiveness and self-righteousness of many Obama supporters is appalling.

Of course she can!
HRC can heal the racial divide easily.
1) Quit the race.
2) Apologize to BHO for race-baiting.Apologize to the American people for race-baiting, lying, and running a campaign that has made Republicans look ethical.
3) Throw her support unqualifiedly behind BHO.
See! Now wasn't that easy?

ElectroRobot is missing bolts.
If you really believe that there is no racial divide in the U.S. and it's all hype.
Not only are you incredibly annoying, but remarkably stupid.
Then on your second post you say it's not to be solved, what is not to be solved?
According to your first post it's make believe.
Now do you see why you are retarded.
Hey WES if you continue on this spiral down the race game (buckwheat comments) you'll loose any and all respect you have for being a clever post. You are one of the best posters here, don't go there man.

Clinton-linked group distributing false info to black voters
Are we talking about the same Hillary Clinton who's having illegal robo-calls full of false voter information made on her behalf to primarily African-American North Carolina voters? A group called Women's Voices Women Vote has admitted that they're behind the calls. They're a DC-based non-profit organization whose president and founding members have contributed heavily to the Clinton campaign, and they count Bill Clinton's former chief of staff as one of their board members.

Here's a tip for Bill and Hillary: If you want to have any credibility left with African-American voters after this election, you might want to try not lying to them and trivializing their accomplishments at every opportunity.

Clinton will not be healing the racial divide today
This is from Hillary Clinton's interview on Bill O'Reilly:
O'Reilly: "Can you believe this Rev. Wright guy? Can you believe this guy?"
Clinton: "Well, I'm going to leave it up to voters to decide."
O'Reilly: "Well, what do you think as an American?"
Clinton: "Well, what I said when I was asked directly is that I would not have stayed in the church."
O'Reilly: "You're an American citizen, I'm an American citizen, He's an American citizen, Rev. Wright. What do you think when you hear a fellow American citizen say that kind of stuff about America."
Clinton: "Well, I take offense. I think it's offensive and outrageous. I'm going to express my opinion, others can express theirs. It is part of just, you know, an atmosphere we're in today."
So Hillary is going to leave the Rev. Wright issue up to voters to decide. Nevermind that Rev. Wright is not part of Obama's campaign and does not deserve to be much of a voting issue for Obama. The point Hillary is making is that if voters don't like Wright, they should vote for her, not Obama.
There's no doubt that Hillary Clinton is hoping to gain a boost in votes from the Rev. Wright controversy. But she made it explicit here.
Nope, Clinton will not be healing the racial divide today.

@WES
Notorious WES: "She could agree to be Buckwheat's VP.......that might help."
Referring to Barack Obama as "Buckwheat," eh? Wow. You're really doing your part to keep everything nice and above-board, aren't you?

Now is not the time
Obama’s entering the contest was a test of the country’s racial tolerance. Obama appeared to lay the groundwork for a sustained run after winning Iowa. The Iowa win was a signal to skeptical African Americans that Obama could win white votes and that is when considerable support shifted to Obama from Hillary. Hillary was out smarted and caught by surprise as Obama blasted her in southern and small caucus states.
Because the Obama caught the Clinton campaign flat-footed one could assume that they did not take Obama seriously enough. They were relying on the premise that white people in small states would not vote for a black man. Nothing else explains their inept strategy as they only received 40% of the vote in some states.
Frankly, though I do not think Hillary is racist but she is aware of what divides the country racially as evidenced by some of her and Bill’s actions. For example, though true, she should have not said that only a president could have passed civil rights legislation. Then Bill correctly states that Jesse Jackson also won South Carolina. The Clintons ignored the antennae that many sensitive blacks have for racial code and Hillary should have known better.
After South Carolina, Hillary was in continuous scramble mode and appeared to join in the tarring of Obama with Wright’s venom. She is joining in the frenzy with the media by conflating Wright’s political punditry with Obama’s political philosophy. She is implying that as the media is that one cannot listen to a speaker and then and the separate theology from punditry. For her speech on race to work, it would have to be pitch perfect lest she come off as phony and hypocritical.
Wright’s is intemperate and impolitic. However, let us not pretend that we do not know were he is coming from.
