A 2004 Energy Department study found that even if drilling started today, to would take 9 years for it to have any economy benefit and 20 years for it to reach peak production. Once it does reach peak production, the benefit would be a 50 cent drop in the price of a barrel of oil, and that benefit would last for 3 years. Seems to me 50 cents a barrel is not going to impact the price of gasoline Xanthro.

War directly impacts the price of gasoline because of the huge amount of oil we're burning through in Iraq and Afganistan.
