  • War Room Quota

I suppose you guys have to post SOMETHING to the war room, so maybe I should let this slide, but this isn't news. Nothing new here.

  • Howard & his rules

Interesting how Howard's such a stickler for his rules regarding FL & MI, but now he really, really wants to pressure his superdelegates to get in line and save him from himself.

  • Deadlocked convention

Would it be an entirely bad thing if a deadlocked convention resulted in Al Gore being the nominee ?

  • Let's look at it this way

Since Hillary isn't going to pull out in June, or July, or August, that decision will have to be made for her by the super delegates in June after the last primary. This is Dean's job and mission for the next 6 weeks. After this is done, I see one of two things happening. Either Hillary will put all her energy into ensuring a McCain victory in November so she can run in 2012, or I wouldn't be shocked to see her running on the McCain ticket.

  • Yawn

The media really doesn't have anything to do other than beat this story to death, do they?

  • Reed

Who would listen to reed. The same reed that caused the screw-up in Florida and Michigan.

He should be replaced for not providing a solution to his screw-up.

The delegates should do their job and take as much time that they need. they should weigh all the factors and even discuss with other delegates to reach a vote.

  • Yeah, right...

Billary will go over Obama's dead body. She'll gleefully hop over it. She's staying as long as she's breathing...

  • From many posts...

It is interesting to see that the left wing and the right wing so pationately and irrationally dislike the Clintons. I have seen accusations here that are right in keeping with the Vincent Foster murder theories propogated by the right wing.

And what's amazing is that this is coming during a competitive primary (i.e. two or more people vying for the nomination) and all of this ire is directed agains her because she should disapear in deference to the favored candidate.

So there is really very little difference between left wing and right wing when it comes to how they approach electoral politics. My guy or the highway and I will say anything about the other candidate rather than respect their right to run and the right of others to support them in good faith.

This is what I liked so much about Bill Clinton's presidency. He ignored the left and right shouting match and went with what worked and made sense. Ergo his presidency succeeded. As an example of what happens when ideology trumps doing what is right and works, see the failed presidency of George W. Bush.

And again, I think Obama and Clinton are both very good people and attractive candidates. Let all of the people have their vote as should happen in a democracy and the process will play itself out.

  • I am so over it

Endless "debates" "In depth analysis" "mud slinging posts" "Video bloopers for the news cycle" ____________ fill in the blank "redundent MSM Bullshit" Someone send me an email when they decide.

  • Solomon, anybody?

We need a King Solomon to step into this mess. Force H and O to decide, or he will tear the Democratic party in two. Then whomever has the country's best interest at heart will step aside and let go of this massive baby. Somehow I can't imagine Hillary ever letting go.

  • What kind of president?

And if Hillary Clinton feels it is her right to defy the popular vote and pledged delegate count and secure the nomination by back room dealing with the superdelgates, I have to wonder what kind of president would we have who puts her personal ambition above the will of the people.

If she cannot secure an unprecedented sweep in the next few primaries and come close to Obama's delgate count, she needs to bow out as soon as possible and focus on defeating John McCain.

  • re: Either Hillary will put all her energy into ensuring a McCain victory in November so she can run in 2012, or I wouldn't be shocked to see her running on the McCain ticket.

This is her only shot. After this she won't get another chance in 2012. It's now or never, and she's staring "never" in the face. After the final primary June 3rd. it will be over. Every primary will have taken place, and the super delegates can make their choice without being accused of subvverting the voters. Obama will lock up the nomination.

She's hated by Republican's with a passion. They'd rather see Jane Fonda as McCain's running mate. That door is closed, but I if she thinks she still has doners loyal, I wouldn't be surprised to see her run as an independant.

I say, 50/50 chance she tries to run independantly after Obama secures the nomination.

  • Leave it to the Democratic Party

    to ruin a sure thing.

Only the democrats could get McCain elected in November! and sure enough, they have self-destructed just like all my republican friends said they would.

Sad, we can't even agree on how to begin to fix this mess.

  • HIllary's latest (and greatest) gambit

What? No War Room mention of Hillary's challenge for a Lincoln-Douglass style debate?

I honestly think this is one of the best ideas to come out of this rancid bitch of a primary season. As near as I can tell, Barack has not accepted, claiming that Americans have seen all the debates they need to see.

If he calls those media-orchestrated clusterfucks sufficient, then he may have more liabilities than I have acknowledged.

There are two possibilities at play here:

    1. Hillary wants this debate and thinks that her wonkish attention to policy details will sway voter and superdelegates.

    2. Hillary is bluffing and Barack's only recourse is to accept the challenge. Otherwise, he looks like he afraid of what is by its nature a more substantiative form of public discourse.

The only way Barack can come out of this well is to accept the challenge/call the bluff and excess in the debate.

Such debates would serve a two-fold purpose. It would give the people a chance to understand the candidates. It would set a precedent to challenge McCain in the same format.

Exactly. I've been saying the same thing for months. She's gonna pull a "Joementum" on the democrats.
