Obama should choose a VP on May 1st
Sorry to be slightly off-topic, but I'm trying (with little hope of succeeding) to float the idea of Obama announcing his choice of VP a few days before the May 6 primaries. Enough time for the papers to dig up the good stuff, and not enough for the bad stuff, if any. Frankly the VP will have to be white, but I'm a little split on whether picking a man or a woman helps more. The woman vote is certainly an issue with Obama right now, but in the end an unassailable record on military/patriotism issues may be more helpful. I don't know if the person I have in mind actually exists, but it sure would solve some problems for Obama. He's been a little off-pitch lately, and I think he needs some help to change the tone of the race if the not the ultimate outcome.
