Obama can't afford to shift his focus yet
Neither he nor Hillary have won this thing yet and there are sufficient votes and delegates still up for grabs to win it.
That is the underlying issue here. Until one or the other wins, they cannot focus solely on McCain. And while they attack each other, McCain can quietly sit in the shadows, make comments on their attacks, look at political advantages where available and exploit them, and use the time to increase funds in his political coffers.
And when the Democrats FINALLY get a candidate, they will have an up-hill battle all the way to beat McCain...and will most likely lose because they cannot make up time or ground quickly enough.
And Operation Chaos isn't helping either.
