He Gets It
Clinton simply doesn't. Our fight is not Clinton vs. Obama. It's against the corporatists, the warmongers, the lobbyists and special interests. Clinton has performed well in many circumstances during this campaign, but so far she has shown me that she does NOT get the big picture.
Is it just me? Every day I feel more and more like we are on the precipice, and the slightest tremor will send us over the edge. Clinton does not seem to understand that activists, Obama, African-Americans are NOT the biggest enemies here, this fight is NOT about HER and her legacy. This fight is about the very survival of the United States of America.

No. This Isn't The Speech He Needed
Unfortunately, what is wrong with Obama is precisely this. This is the reason he doesn't connect with blue-collar working class voters of any majority.
It's fine and grand to lift people up and inspire. In fact, I would also point out that Clinton's victory speech tonight was hopeful and inspiring.
Barack Obama seems to have two levers: inspiration and anger. When he isn't inspiring he comes across as up above it all, almost sneering at the process, instead of recognizing that the voters he needs to reach don't care as much about who inspires them as who is able to solve their problems with the tanking economy, with soaring health care costs, with soaring gasoline prices, with soaring education costs, with a housing industry in critical condition.
He doesn't answer these problems. He lays a carpet of blame on Washington, Washington politicians (of which he is one, also), and ultimately, on the government itself. I honestly think that regular Americans see through this. After all, he really is nothing more than a fancier version of Ronald Reagan. These core voters in the heartland and urban centers of America have seen and heard this before. They weren't born yesterday and they aren't buying the "transformational" politics.
Finally, if Barack Obama is so successful, why has he not been able to make serious inroads with these core voters? And why has his Internet ATM not helped him deliver these voters to his "cause"? Bob Casey didn't help him in Pennsylvania - the place where he most needed to connect.

I agree, it was spot on
I was so glad to see him confronting McSame rather than engaging Clinton. There is no need for him to pay attention to her any more. The math for her has gone past the point of no return.
If she refuses to face reality, Obama must get a head start for the coming election and position himself against McSame. Otherwise, we will see Clinton successful in her scorched-earth attempts to destroy him and the Dem Party.

two speeches, only one with a vision
Hillary sees herself. she spouts tired DC platitudes. She cackles. the further the election goes, the more republikan she gets. no wonder Big Bill and His Big One said that Hill and Honest John were the ones "qualified" to be Commander In Chief. Sellouts. Lobbyist hookers. Liars. and losers. tonight did prolong the agony, and I admit I expect a closer count. Still she gained about ten delegates out of 160 she was behind. So, if we had 75 states she's have shot. in the real world, she's done, and has been for months. Obama gets it. this is not just any election. It's about the future, indeed the existence, of this country we supposedly love. The corporations and the pentagon run us. We have to have someone who can see over, and around, the obstacles. Obama is that man, or one of them. He's the best we have. She's a hack.

A pathetic speech, old and tired, a retread of themes that are tattered and faded
after a 10 point thumping. I love how he fled the scene of the crime as soon as he could! He's a walking corpse politically. I can only hope the Dems are stupid enough to now actually nominate him.

The show must go on
Everything that happened tonight was so clearly what was going to happen that I just find myself bored. Hillary got her 9-10 point victory, and can't quite be happy. Obama made some inroads, and can't quite be happy. McCain is still sheltered, but also obscured, and he can't quite be happy.
I think the only thing substantial about the evening, and the several weeks running up to the evening is that Hillary's campaign can't have much more money left. With no shot at all for the pledged delegate lead, a dwindling shot at super lead, and not much of a shot at popular vote lead, I'm not sure why anyone will give her any more money. I could have understood if she really blew the doors off with a 20+ margin of victory, but she didn't. How does she continue to go on if she can't pay for it?
I'm terribly tired of all this. How about one big super Tuesday from now on?

Empty seats at the PA Obama bash

Their candidate ran away like a frightened cur.

No, Jerm. There, you are wrong
Hillary has raised about $3 million since the race was called for her. She'll get money. I have no idea where all these people were before, but apparently they've come out of the woodwork for her.
My heart is sick and broken.
Our team sucks. We're going to lose.
McCain 08! :(

@Cythera
You are divorced from reality. Get a hold of yourself, find your meds, put the computer away, and just breath.
Barack still leads in every category - all Hillary has left are arguments, because she can't point to her results. I actually like Hillary, and I think she'd be a fine VP. But I'm tired of you and everyone like you.
While you're breathing, read this - it sums up the situation rather nicely:

Here's my favorite part, you can just smell the self-delusion
"There were a lot of folks who didn't think we could make this a race when it started. They thought we were going to be blown out. But we worked hard ... and now, six weeks later, we closed the gap. We rallied people of every age and race and background to the cause."
I guess he probably did get at least ONE vote from "people of every race and background." LOL. And trying to pretend he's the underdog is pathetic, but really, what else can he do. His balls were vised off tonight.
