Unfair and Imbalanced
You want to hold Obama accountable, in some irrational way, for Ayers. Why? Any cursory investigation of their relationship (can we call it that?) turns up nothing. But that doesn't really help when you are being quizzed about that person on national TV. Once the question comes out, these two people who know each other only tangentially are linked in the public mind.

Right. Then the trick is to just run the 12-word description of what Ayers said once for emphasis, as if just those 12 words explain everything. It's like mentioning Wright and just saying US of KKK A without saying that that one little soundbite came out of a 10,000-word speech where it made perfect sense in context. This is what the media does. They say it's a way to boil huge, complex issues down quickly so that the public can easily grasp them, and I call bullshit on them all. It's tailoring an agenda and it sure as hell ain't what I was taught at J school.
(Unfortunately, and this is OT, but still in the realm of the media, what I was taught in J school might well not be taught any more or in the near-term future. I went to NU, and they're turning Medill into a freakin' corporate communications camp. Just effin' great. So, expect more of this "fair and balanced" bullshit to come.)

Regarding the members of the "press"...
...that have been giving the "Straight Talk Express" a free ride... that have given the Bush administration a free pass...
Don't any of you folks out there wonder who these people are?
I don't know about you all... but I want some NAMES!
It seems that we all agree that reporters continue to toe-the-line; because they are paid outrageous salaries that encourage them to stomach and regurgitate the garbage that is fed, through them, to us.
Is there nothing we can do?
Perhaps we stop consuming their trash?
Could we collectively stop watching network news? Can we all peel ourselves away from the television?
I have come to the determination that television is responsible for so much misinformation and divisive discourse that I refuse to watch it anymore. I won't pay for it!
How about we READ our news from reputable sources? Is that possible?
It is T.V., with all these empty talking-heads, that has blown all of these ridiculous stories (featured in last night's "debate"), completely out of proportion! They have taken us away from the issues, while allowing Sen. McCain to coast along; unscathed!
And while you're at it... if you CAN manage to unplug yourself from the T.V.... maybe READ a book; instead of watching American Idol or Dancing with the Stars, before you switch the T.V. back to FOX or CNN (pool or pond).
MAYBE read a book to a CHILD!!! Don't park your kids in front of the boob-tube-babysitter!
...
And these POLLS!!! We read these less-than-credible, and easily manipulated numbers; and let them throw us into a frenzy?!?
Aren't you all a little fed up?
We all complain about it, but we continue to fall into their trap again and again!
We need to take these "reporters" to task! Publicly call them out!!! Expose them for the frauds that they are!
Do we need to begin some Guerrilla-Truth-Squad to infiltrate press conferences and so-called "debates?" ...to call out the no-talent-hacks who moderate these debates and distract us with their bullshit!
Stop giving your dollars to these networks AND their advertisers!!! Get off the grid!
Am I fooling myself here?
Are we all so dependent on the corporate-consumer machine?!?
What does everyone here think?
Thanks all.

I don't see what the big deal is...
Seriously. OK so what the media suck, we know that. But I'd rather Obama address it now. I love that it comes from the right - they are revealing their strategy. Ayers, Wright, Flag Pin, Elitism.
Perfect. We've got lots of time to work it.
(Besides, is this all they have? Tie in Rezco if want. If so, i think that's GREAT. McCain is dirtier than a pig in s**t, doesn't know WTF he's talking about and has some serious flip-flop issues going on).
NO I am NOT upset they revealed their strategy. And frankly I hope the voters of PA and beyond show the REPUBLICANS that those tricks didn't quite work as well as they would have liked them to. (won't prevent them from using them in the general but I'm not feeling offended by the questions, as irrelevant as they were).

"'Here's what they are saying on Fox News, how do you respond'."
How about: 'a blogger said you are actually Osama bin Laden. How do you respond?'
or
'The (insert tabloid name here) has pictures of you with aliens. How do you respond?'
The game is putting it out there (Obama is a muslim, anyone?) regardless of validity, and covering for the Republican candidate (Bush was vetted... on everything), especially now that it is McCanonized.
Giving unnecessary, and unearned, credibility to a hostile and untrustworthy "source," merely reinforces the status quo. The system is broken, and Obama alluded to that fact. That should be the point of discussion, not this ridiculous, 'wait unitl Fox/McCain/whatever slimeboating 527 outfit decides to blast whatever made-to-order controversy they can dream up into the campaign coverage,' once again sucking up inordinate airtime and oxygen...

Desparation For The White House
Hannity and Stephanopoulos, laughable. Senator Obama must learn to just show up to these lynchings and as soon as he sees the directions of the questions or interview, just get up and walk off on National TV. No explanation needed.
Why should he subject his Integrity to such dogged trash of a bigoted Media?
Thank you George and the other boy for your display of bigotry, ignorance, loyalty to evil, and status quoism. You boys really reflect the most elite sense of disgrace America offers the World.

Hannity has no creditability
It is amazing to me that anyone who has listened regularly to Hannity gives him any creditability. Some examples:
During the build-up to the Iraq invasion, Hannity told his national audience:
-
Hussain is a threat to the USA.
- This will be easier than most people realize, we will be in and out in a short time and use their oil to pay for the invasion
- There are WMD (in fact, he had some "conspiracy theory" nuts on he show that swore that there were still WMD long after everyone else accepted the fact that there were none.
- Al-Qaeda is operating in Iraq.
His partisan cheerleading for Republicans is so biased and so transparent that it is amazing anyone takes him seriously.
