New polls show little movement as a result of Obama's "bitter" controversy.

  • It's Not Going To Be

A primary victory for the ages in any event. I can see The Obama convention speech now-----Yes we can. Yes we did. Well, with no big state wins but Illinois, and a bunch of caucuses that McCain is going to win anyhow, and of course minus Florida and Michigan.

  • Salon, your shipment of Fail has arrived

"Ha ha," as Nelson would say. People aren't buying into "elitegate" despite your transparant shilling and faux outrage over this non-issue. You and your Mesiah, Hillary Rove Zell Nader Clinton; fell on your ass once again. I feel nothing but schadenfreude for the both of you.

  • Notorious, but lacking notoriety

Whatever the impact of the bitter/non-issue is, it will serve as a litmus test for stupidity in a particularly notorious Midwest state. Was that the Liberty Bell?

  • The Notorious W.E.S.

Winning by the rules will not negate Obama's victory. FL and MI have only themselves to blame, and Hillary's pandering is just that.

  • Donuts

Don't you have donuts to pick up for McCain?

The press, clearly, is in the tank for McSame, Hillary's BFF.

  • So Bittergate did nothing despite all of the Hillary supporter screaming

The point, which many of us told you ad nauseum until you yelled us down, is that Bittergate has done absolutely nothing.

It hasn't eroded her support, it hasn't helped hers. Pennsylvanians are smart, thinking people who were able to actually read his comments and understand what he was trying to say.

I for one am not shocked. Nor are any of us. But Hillary supporters are on here, like Notorious W.E.S., trying to do what they always do which is disagree with math and disprove what the polls show.

The "Tuzla" sniper story did her more harm, while Bittergate didn't hurt Obama at all. Already knew this. Could have told you it. Did tell you it. Don't mind that you ignored it. A little peeved now that the Clinton supporters are still choosing to disagree with fact.

Here's another poll for you. Quinnipac, which is among the most accurate and polled the most people this time around with a relatively large sample size of 2,100 people.

    "

    April 15, 2008

    POLL: Quinnipiac University Pennsylvania Dems

    Quinnipiac University

    Pennsylvania - 4/9 through 4/13

    Clinton 50%, Obama 44% - unchanged from 4/3-4/6

From the release: "There was no noticeable difference in the matchup in polling April 12 – 13, following widespread media reports on Sen. Obama’s ‘bitter’ comments."

Update: More on results from Quinnipiac by race, education and gender here.

  • There's Another Obama Dude

Bragging about being down 6 points, outspending 3-1.

  • W.E.S.

You know I'm a fan of yours, but I suggest you read Savage Inequalities by Jonathon Kozol. Maybe you will need a breath of fresh air sitting in Reverend Wright's pews for a few Sundays.

Were the white people of South Africa racist before the end of apartheid even if they had no personal prejudice? Most of us would say yes. So what does it mean where we live in a country where some many urban (black and hispanic mainly but sometimes poor white as well) kids are crowded into taking their classes in hallways and corners of auditoriums without text books or with outdated text books, while suburban mostly white children with taxpayer money (although the Supreme Court has repeatedly called for "equality" in education) have tennis courts, swimming pools, AP classes and the opportunity to have a future outside of a maximum security prison?

The United States IS a racist country. I'm white so I guess I'm allowed to say that. We're only less racist when we're actively trying to change the system, and using Republican talking points to beat up on Reverend Wright who lives in a city with some of the most racist educational funding equations in the country is dishonest. In her awsome book 100 Demons, Lynda Barry says there's a difference in hating someone because they've pushed you down, and hating someone because you think they're ugly. Reverend Wright lashes out at that side of America that has pushed black people down. There is a difference.

And continuing to harp on Wright or Obama's friendship with him isn't winning any more hearts and minds for Hillary at this point...sorry.

  • Seems like the bitter ones are the Clinton supporters.

This so called "flap" was seen for what it was, despite the media's best efforts to make it the next big scandal (gotta get those clicks!)

There was nothing offensive in what Obama said, and he has gotten closer to the heart of voter apathy then most other politicians with his exposure.

All the crying you're hearing is more sour grapes from the Clinton crowd.

  • libertyson

One more time very s..l..o..w..l..y.....How come you are only looking at polling of democrats to determine whether Obama has been hurt?

  • Netzero

I really expected to see Hillary get a bump from the "bitter" flap. After seeing and hearing Hillary's reaction (speeches, commercials), it's clear she will negate the gains. Republican style demagoguing does not work for most democrats. In the end, this ruckus may end up hurting her.

  • Ummm because only the Democrats vote in this primary W.E.S.

You asked me why I'm only looking at the polling of Democrats. Easy because only Democrats can vote in the PA primary. Don't know if you caught it or not.

  • dolores

An Obama dude said Bosnia, so I said Wright. Both candidates fell well short of the truth.

  • Then You Should Have Said

It didn't hurt him in the democratic primary in Pennsylvania....Not that it didn't hurt him.

  • libertyson...

I'm high-fiving you right now, dude.

    WES, let's do this slowly,

    ...shut...the...freak...up...aleady

  • 2 lbs of news in a 20 lb sack

Maybe if we hadn't just learned that McCain owns 8 houses and the Clinton's tax return over 8 years was $109 million, this would do more damage. I'm thinking that information is still fresh in voters' minds.

Plus, I'd imagine being condescended to, accidentally or even on purpose, hurts way less than having your job offshored and your local economy gutted as the direct result of governmental policies.

This tempest in a teapot brought to you by Senators "I'm not irrelevant--I mean, bitter" McClintonCain, and the MSM which posted bad Q1 numbers after the WGA writer's strike.

  • Whats The Matter With Kansas

As everyone who's read the excellent book "Whats the Matter With Kansas?" knows, Obama was spot on and correct in his remarks. He could have worded it better but the point was correct.

Rural America has been hoodwinked by the Christian Far Right and the NRA into voting against there own best interests for years.

Obama chose poor words, but he didnt LIE, unlike the Corporate Whore, who ducks sniper fire.
