Letters to the Editor

goodness elephantman,
Why so nasty? Are you defensive? Maybe it's hard to defend Fredo? Maybe he really wasn't god's gift to all that is the Justice Department and this fine country? Nah-- you're just like your godhead, Rush, resulting to name-calling when you have nothing substantive to say or heaven-forfend, someone doesn't agree with you.
Speaking of a defense--- it seems that his spokesman had an opportunity to directly refute this heinous accusation regarding this fine American that you clearly revere as a legal mastermind, unfairly besmirched by the evil (ooops, I mean liberal, same difference) NYT and the unemployed Steve Benen.
Asked about reports that law firms have not taken up feelers from Mr. Gonzales, Robert H. Bork Jr., a corporate communications specialist and his spokesman,, said Mr. Gonzales was talking to many people about the next steps in his career. “He is considering his opportunities in law and business,” Mr. Bork said, “but after many years in public service he is considering his options carefully.”
So, you avatar of all that is fair (for all Americans, I'm sure, oh wait, not the people who live in NYC) --- why didn't his own spokesman shoot down this scurrilous claim? Why not simply say "No, this is untrue, he is considering many fine offers, as befits a man of his integrity and intellectual depth".
Maybe because he couldn't refute it without lying? Not that it has stopped many of these guys before. But I know that doesn't bother you in the slightest.

Okay, I get it now. You've got nothing to add. Just like Steve Benen, and before him, the NYT.
I should therefore add this; in addition to the employability problems of Steve Benen (previously reported in this letters thread), unnamed sources have also indicated that JCT is experiencing employability problems as well. I can't tell you who they are, because they wished to remain unnamed.

Its pretty tough to get a job these days
When all your references lack credibility, and you answer every question in the interview with "I can't recall"
