  • Now I get it.

" Rick Santorum told a Penn State audience, "Islam, unlike Christianity, is an all-encompassing ideology. It is not just something you do on Sunday."

So that explains everything in the Republican party. Christianity is just words that are only good in church.

Ergo, Republicans always have an escape clause.

  • Any...

politician or pundit who uses the word IslamoFacist as a word should be immediately required to define it. ITs a scary sounding word...but functionally meaningless. Egypt, our ally, could arguably be called an IslamoFacist state...indeed, so could any of the arab monarchies...also our allies, for the most part. So, unless they can define it they should be banned from using it. Besides, what fun if someone actually asked Perino or even the President to intelligently define the word.

  • Oh drat!

I'll have to leave work early today to run over to the Hallmark store to stock up on all my Islamo-Fascism Awareness Week greeting cards for my friends and relatives.

Ha! Those funny Shoebox Greetings always crack me up!

  • Fundamentalo Bad-Grammar Awareness Week come next

Another major threat to our way of life! Unlike other religions, Christian Fundamentalists want to destroy our language!

  • The crusade and Santorum

Wow - that's a lot of nonsense you covered in one short post.

I suppose Horowitz is unaware of the irony of claiming that radical Muslims are on a "crusade." Crusade is derived from the word Cross, because the Christians of the Middle Ages were bringing the Cross to the Holy Land (to beat the Muslims over the head with it). I think it's safe to say that, whether Horowitz recalls this, the Muslims do.

And for Rick Santorum to suggest that Christianity is just something you do on Sunday reveals how utterly empty his "conservative" "family values" political agenda has always been. When I go the church on Sunday they try to get us to practice our faith the rest of the week, but I'm not Catholic so I guess I can't comment on what goes on in Santorum's church.

  • not for free

Horowitz, in fact, is probably collecting relatively handsome fees from student groups for these events, so "selling" is probably more apt. It's amazing anyone is buying. This guy should be laughed off college campuses.

  • Crusade

And on the way to the Holy Land, the Crusaders managed to beat up (not to say murder) a lot of Jews and also did a number on Byzantium from which it never recovered. Doesn't this sound familiar: Creating oceans of blood while crying "Deus lo vult!" ("God wills it!")?

    Monotheism is a terrible mistake.

  • Doesn't Horowitz have some professor he should harassing?

We do believe in Islamofascism! We do! Clap harder!!

Caliphate; headchoppers; over there, rather than here; kill us in our beds; make us give up spareribs; we'll all be in burqas...

    Am I forgetting anything?

  • Rise to the Occasion

This is what to do. Gather some friends, and go to one of these events dressed as 'islamo-fascists'.

Get fake beards, long beards, but with a small stubby Hitler moustache. Wear turbans - not real turbans, you're supposed to be a 'towel head' so wear a bath towel wrapped on your head. With a picture of Mussolini pinned to the front. Carry signs that read "Mohammed uber Alles!". or "Allah Ist Gut!" or "Ill Osama". Make armbands with some merging of a swastica and an Islamic moon.

I'm sure there's other creative ideas people can use to make uber-stupid mergings of stereotype Islam and stereotype National Socialism. I'm talking to you, college students. The important thing is to make them stupid. And make them tacky, scatter-brained-middle-america suburban, that's a great way to get campy. Don't get too cerebral or middle america won't understand. AND ESPECIALLY, so that everybody can see you really aren't Islamic sympathizers, or the police might get rough. You want this to be funny, not disasterous.

So go to one of these events and protest it. If the media show up, fess up and tell them you're mocking the concept because Islam has nothing to do with Fascism, they're just connecting the two because everybody hates Fascism. In your own words, of course.

  • So?

If I was a hard core zionist who no longer cared about the country I was raised in like Horowitz or a dispensationalist nut job who only cared about bringing about the second coming of my invisible friend like Santorum I'd be telling same lies. Most of which can be convincingly applied to either recient US christian right movements or the current and several past Isreali governments, by the way.

But then, in order to get people who don't have anything to gain by it to go to war against another people you have to convice them that those other guys are either a threat or "evil" and therefor not really human beings. I wonder when chrystalnacht is scheduled for.

  • Just on Sunday?

Man, am I in the wrong denomination; I thought being a Christian was also an every-day thing. Anyone check with Jesus for an opinion? As to the Week that is: what should I be aware of?

  • "The core of the jihad is its intention to conquer and force into submission all religions and cultures which are not its own."

Who is occupying whom? Who is forcing their culture and their way of life onto to whom? Who has killed more, bombed more, destroyed more?

There is nothing wrong with applying the term "fascism" to the Muslim's who have made the US their enemy because by definition fascism bears a resemblance to the political ideas of these Muslims, especially the Taliban and to a lesser extent the Wahabis. However, it is not at all a fascism like Nazi Germany that wants to conquer other nations or force their way of life onto others. It wants instead autonomy and the right to live its own way of life in peace without bombs, intrigue, the CIA and puppet regimes.

The Muslims are our first foreign neighbor, that is a neighbor who does not share Western culture, to the East. So, it is not surprising given human nature that the relationship is tense and has been for hundreds of years.

The end is not likely near so long as neither party is humane, rational and willing to make concessions. At this point we are nothing better than junkyard dogs.

The morons who populate these groups only fuel the problem with their constipated hatred and their repressed sexual desires manifesting itself as a lust for bombings and Armageddon...bomb, bomb, bomb Iran!
