why bother Billy Boy?
you don't read well anyway.

reality based
Haven't you heard? Obama went to a madrassa. He's a second cousin of Saddamn Insane. He's not really black. No, he's too black. He can't get elected. No, he's bound to get elected and ruin the country for white wimmin. The Klinton Kampaign is sponsoring a reissue of Birth of a Nation with closed captioning. Coming soon to a swing state near you.

@ The Professor
Speaking of which, how do you feel about Salon seemingly cancelling your comic?
They didn't cancel it, I've just gone deep undercover in the comments section. It's the world's first stealth comic. My brilliance cannot be dimmed!

"why bother billy boy . . . you don't read well anyway."
A response so stunning in its intellect, display of deep factual knowledge, deep insight into the political realm. and reliance on specific refutations, that it's as overwhelming as Obama's victory. Oh, wait.
Once more, thanks for proving my point.
Again.

the shift is due to calls for hillary to drop out
having article after article say that hillary is selfishly ruining the democratic party by continuing her pointless quest is the reason the gallup poll is swinging. (hillary's bosnia flub didn't move the polls much at all).
obama has very effectively gotten the media to echo his claim that he's the inevitable winner, creating a self-fulfilling prophecy.
hillary's problem is not that she hasn't won a sufficient number of states or voters to justify staying in the race and not that she can't woo superdelegates, but that she can't win over even a modest portion of the most important constituency at the moment -- the press.
had pennsylvania happened 2 weeks after ohio rather than 7, we'd have a different race. but given a time vacuum, the press turns inevitably to stories that rip hillary to shreds. (paul krugman had a nice line today about the fact that clinton "tortures babies and eats puppies" as far as the press is concerned).
still, this precipitous rush to declare her dead is going to create a backlash from her considerable base of support. from their perspective, the great "uniting" politics that obama promises is looking a lot like arrogant, self-righteous, self-serving baloney, particularly given that his victory will be based in no small part on the absence of florida and michigan. (in fact it was the decision not to revote those states that suddenly cast hillary as the inevitable loser and scourge of the democratic party).
when he faces mccain, he's going to have to battle through a tough election, scratching out a 51% victory. you think he's going to come through that looking like a "new breed of politician" who transcends divides? i think not. i think he's going to have embittered mccain supporters out to tear him down, and he will thus begin his presidency as a divisive figure and we'll pick up right where we left off before he came on the scene. better than having a republican, for sure, but certainly not transformative in the sense being promoted by the obama campaign.
i hope i'm wrong about that, but i doubt it. when you sell yourself -- not your policies -- as the salvation of the country you are bound to fall far short.

Here's a poll
You won't see on salon.com, though it's from the same Gallup touted in the headline and it's all of 24 hours old. These are the numbers that count among those who haven't completely lost all perspective:

full of shift
The tide has turned, and the water was already high. Only the turds that float the best- our friend Kate, for example- think everything's ducky for billary. Here's a pole: sit on it.

Brain dead and/or Removed from Reality: Works for Fester
If the race is close. It is close. It's nothing but close. And it's only going to get a little closer once Hillary wins PA, the biggest state left. You have to be either brain dead or removed from reality to say this isn't a close race. In fact, I'll even give you a past tense if you want. You'd have to be brain dead or removed from reality to say this wasn't a close race.
I can work with both of these conditions, neither is much of a hindrance when posting on Salon, and maybe in fact be effacious.
Given current pledged delegate, super delegate and popular vote compositions, Obama needs far fewer additional super delegates than Hillary to reach 2024 delegates. Current RCP Composite polls show Hillary at +16 in PA and Obama at + 12.7 in NC. A tight race in IN will not help Hillary. An Obama win in both NC and IN will likely negate any Hillary wins in PA. So how is it close?

These are the times that try mens (And womens) souls
The morbid spectacle of the American primaries and the run up to the general election gives many of us who are citizens of other countries little hope for the future of the world this is especially so when we see the distractions of the diatribes of devotees of the absurd as played out in your mass media ...
Your society and its media mechanisms always seem to find away to rave ridiculous, obscure truth and kill hope ... Indeed it seems that even if Obama were ahead 80/20 in the polls …. there would likely be very calculated attempts to keep him and those who think like him from ever gaining or exercising power to try and make a more just world ...
Clinton and McCain are people with limited vision and perspectives narrowed by their own ignorance --- an ignorance that is not ’Cured nor abated’ by age itself … Mr. Obama is hopeful only because he is still to innocently young to realise how horribly ill the entire human species is … and how specifically ill the American public are in oh so many ways ….
Sorry but this Old geezer has just had his fill of the sad state of human efforts of late … America was a noble dream at one time … it has of late degenerated into a nightmare where pundits of the entire political spectrum (Many with nominal IQ’s and sick hearts and minds) get ’Equal’ air time … such ’Equality’ of air-time accessibility is not an indication of the strength of Democracy ---- but rather an indication of the dearth of intellect!
Spin is in … lies are abounding … hate is rampant … ignorance is overwhelming … --- The sorry reality is that millions of your own children are ill-educated, ill-fed, ill-housed and ill-treated and still the chatter continues about the nonsensical nihilist necessity of war and capitalism to bring your brand of ”Freedom” elsewhere … for humanities sake please look in the mirror!!!!
“This is the way the world ends … this is the way the world ends ---- Not with a bang but a whimper!”
All my best intentions … from an Old Geezer in the North Woods of Canada who sends his best to those thoughtful people in the USA who love ’peace’ and all their fellow man/women.
