We'll be lucky to get 45%
If Obama wins the nomination and then only gets 45% support, then there'll be trouble in River City.
He won't get 45%, he'll be lucky if he gets 42%.
The entire Wright affair should have little long term affect on the Democratic nomination because.
A. It happened too far into the process to truly affect the outcome.
B. In order to be effective, the issue has to be used to destroy Obama, and no Democrat will do that.
General Elections are not about nuance or great policy ideas. They are theme and sound-bite driven.
Obama will be attacked from different points.
McCain and his campaign will work on Obama's lack of experience and highlight McCain's working with Democrats.
Conservative 527 groups will go after Obama on patriotism and for having the most liberal voting record of any Senator.
The 527 attacks will be vicious and downright mean, but Obama won't have anyway to really respond.
Why couldn't Obama, on two campaign events, not bother to have his hand over his heart during the National Anthem?
It’s handing a pre-made issue to the Republicans and it’s an issue that will resonant in the general election.
