  • I'd say the three most likely VPs are:

    1. Clinton - though only if the DNC forces it on Obama as an ugly "compromise", I don't see either candidate being overly happy with it, but neither candidate's supporters can realistically vote for McCain or sit the election out with "both" running.

    2. Richardson. I don't think I need explain this.

    3. Dodd. Very aligned, and very experienced, and the two have a history of working together. Don't think I need to explain this one either, but it's surprising to me it hasn't come up before.

  • Richardson seems to be the consensus here

so i'd like to give a kudo to "tejano" who first mentioned him - i think it inspired. he's easy going, got a lot of experience and is latino(but doesn't look it).

  • An Israel-Firster and pseudo anti-war anti-Imperialist "Transpartisan Hero"

might choose another Israel First, pseudo "Transpartisan Hero". Shocking.

Man, this Obama chap really really really wants AIPAC to know he's on board with fighting wars for paranoid reactionary Zionists, doesn't he?

  • FYI

"(CNN) – Hillary Clinton’s argument that she is the Democratic contender best-equipped to win the “big states” the party needs to capture the White House took a slight hit Thursday with the release of a new survey that seems to suggest Barack Obama is better-positioned to win California – a state where she won last month’s primary contest.

A new poll by the Public Policy Institute of California indicates if the election were held today, Obama would hold a 49-40 percent advantage over McCain in a hypothetical fall matchup there. Clinton’s 43-40 percent edge over McCain falls just outside the survey’s margin of error. Fifty-seven percent of independent voters in the state have a favorable view of Obama, while just 35 percent say they like Clinton."

  • Bloomberg ??

I think Michael bloomberg is as big a hawk as McCain or Clinton

Sen Maria Cantwell voted against the iraq War

    Biden, Richardson, Dodd ??

    Much better choices

As an ex-supporter, I'm really down on Edwards

    ANYONE BUT HILLARY !!

  • Obama smokes

Bloomberg would love to see all smokers executed.

  • actually, Electro

i think he gave it up for the campaign, on the insistence of his wife. some role model thing? anyway, more power to him, isn't easy.

  • Bloomberg is not a democrat and has baggage in bundles, there are better choices

Clinton will presumably say no – and given the way she has attacked Obama the combination would have little credibility.

Sibelius would be a credible woman, and as with not voting for Obama because he is black, the same crowd have a problem with a woman so again less net loss, and other very good candidates would be Janet Napolitano, Maria Cantwell (D-WA) agrees with Obama on campaign finance reform and is squeaky clean on PAC money, there is also Claire McCaskill (D-MO), Patty Murray (D-WA) – Hillary though would have a fit because even if Obama lost in ’06 they would probably be as credible or more credible in 2012. Ruth Ann Minner would be great if she was not 73. Christine Gregoire had a too messy election the last time.

Richardson might bring Hispanic voters, but are they already democratic voters; anyone that would not vote for Obama because he is black would probably not vote for Richardson on the same grounds so no net loss.

Wesley Clark – would be good for either Hillary or Obama, neither of whom have military service and both of whom are running against McCain in “wartime.”

Dodd cements the democratic base. Biden is prolix to the point of pain. Edwards is a possibility, and balances to the populist vote – Howard Dean is feasible.

  • Steny Hoyer "Jewish"? Not!

If "hazmaq" thinks that Steny Hoyer is Jewish, "hazmaq" will have to think again. And "hazmaq" will also have to name many more correct names to demonstrate that Jewish leaders "run the Congress" as well as the DCCC and DSCC.

  • WHAT, AGAIN?

Obama & Bloomberg? OY VEY, OY GEVALT!!!!! Todd and Montanaro HAVE COME UP WITH A REAL "WINNER", LIKE GLASS SHARDS IN THE VASELINE, BLOWFISH IN MRS. MURPHY'S FISH CHOWDER, PHOSPHORIC ACID IN THE BAPTISMAL FONT, A HUGE STINKING TURD FLOATING IN THE PUNCHBOWL, A VIPER IN BABY'S DIAPER, YOU GET THE PICTURE!!!! Bloomberg, OF COURSE IS THE VIPER, THE TURD, THE ACID, THE BLOWFISH AND THE GLASS! BUT Todd and Montanaro JUST MADE A HONEST STUPID SUPPOSITION(OR IS THAT A SUPPOSITORY TO BE STUCK UP YOU-KNOW-WHERE?)WHEREAS Joe Klein's MENDACIOUS MACHINATIONS OF PUTTING Gore & Obama TOGETHER WERE MOTIVATED BY HIS repugnicant-rethug-repub SYMPATHIES!!!!!
