Letters to the Editor

@-- moon6pence
As a natural pessimist I am not very self-congratualtory. But as a 46 yo white, intellectual lefty I'm smart enough to know that 9/10 times the person who commits a crime against me is of my own race.
-
Maybe...
...Klein should go back to repeating lies his GOP buddies feed him about FISA and illegal eavesdropping. Much like the neocons in their "think" tanks, why does anyone listen to Klein, much less give him a platform to display all of those baser qualities of the Beltway press corps?
-
And Klein is a nagging old woman ....
Do all New Yorkers whine this much?
The #1 slogan in our Democracy? Let the Buyer Beware..
If you guys aren't happy with what you bought -then ask Bill and Hillary for your money back!
-
How about Obama-Bloomberg-Gore?
In honor of Easter, let's put everyone's fantasies in one basket.
-
I would ignore moon6pence.
Obviously a troll. That was his first letter.
Not an auspicious start.
-
@ Picko
The "self-congratulatory elitist left-wing intellectuals" is just too much low hanging fruit...

Joel Cline's credibility
Joel Cline is an extremely silly man. He must be especially confused right now, like all the other ex-insiders or Press hanger-ones who are green with envy over Obama's abilties, which are so outstandingly superior to their own.

Gore only has to do ONE THING to get me to vote for him
Explain in very clear terms exactly what he meant when he pumped his fist enthusiastically on the convention stage in 2000 and shouted "I believe in a drug free America."
If I am to treat him like a credible person, then I want a credible explanation of what the hell he meant when he said that.
I'm not the kind of person who can ignore nonsense talk like that.
I don't demand that politicians agree with all of my views, but I do demand that they retain contact with reality while they disagree with me.
That's the big problem with Bush -- he talks nonsense and then nonsense actually happens.
I don't think you can expect anything good from someone willing to do violence to common sense in the name of politics, no matter what kind of politics that person claims to represent.
If you're talking nonsense, then you represent the politics of nonsense, and you will not get my vote.
But Gore is redeemable.
All he has to do is explain exactly what he meant.
He has to show that he's in contact with reality and he's not going to let go of contact with reality to obtain a political endorsement from some social conservative pressure group.

AHAHAHAHAHAHA
Best. Bitch-slap. Ever
"The Notorious W.E.S. is not exactly Nostradamus
I recall him pronouncing that Hillary had cinched the nomination after taking California on Super Tuesday. I'm pretty sure that prediction was a fact too, at the time.
BTW, I have a question I've been meaning to ask you, W.E.S.:
At the office, do you make people call you "Mr. Penn" or do you let them address you just as "Mark?"
-- Picko "
If it makes Notorious B.I.G. feel better, I called this election last year to be a Subway Series, because I SURELY thought that both Hillary and Giuliani could squash their competitors and make this a fight between 2 New Yorkers...I'll gladly admit now that I was wrong, looking back on that proclamation now...but at least I'm man enough to admit it.
-
Oh sure...
Take the nomination from the black guy and the woman, who both soundly beat all the other opponents in the primary, and hand it to a white guy who didn't even run. That's a formula for party unity!

Also, already asked

Cafferty of CNN asked this the other day

Obama should be President for Life
At the least, perhaps we should dissolve Congress and let him rule as an absolute dictator-god. I would be ok with that. There are many countries that operate efficiently with what are effectively, modern day monarchies: Egypt, Syria, Jordan, Russia, Cuba, Venezuela, Saudi Arabia, Tunisia, Morocco, Libya. Elections should be reserved for state and local roles.
-
what about this compromise?
maybe this is the real dream ticket:
Morgan Freeman and a player to be named later. Check it out!
-
Old Joe forgot the best "what if" of all
What if Joe Klein STFU?
Fascinating to see that the compromise idea is to put the guy most responsible for record turnout in the Democratic Party at the back of the ticket. Can we say "back of the bus" analogy?
In the 30 years I've been registered as a Dem I have gone down swinging, proudly supporting one losing white Democratic candidate after another. I am perfectly willing to go down swinging in 2008 with Barack at the top of the ticket.

Puh-leeze
Gore is OUT and has been for awhile. We have our candidates... this is it.
-
Gore, doesn't want it.
The sad truth is if Gore ran he would have been the best president America could have imagined.
He has a proven foreign policy track record (Unlike Hillary Clinton whose foreign policy track record is dubious) he is distinctly leftwing and he has a lot of popular backing.
Further, he has a Nobel peace prize going into the campaign, which cannot hurt.
Further unlike the "First Lady" a former vice-President can cite experience. His second campaign would be run as he wanted it, not the way the Beltway pundits want it.
And part two of this whole sad truth is: He isn't going to do it. He simply does not want to take the demotion that would be involved in running for president at this point.
And yes, becoming president, from Al Gore's point of view, would be accepting a demotion.

mother's milk of politics
I suspect, and it worries the hell out of me, that the reason no one has mentioned this, is because no one responding with posts, to this matter, knows about it. But, it turns out, that YAHOO contributed $200,000 to Obama's campaign. I think that SALON has a responsibility to reveal such hidden ties, between candidates and large media contributors. TIME-WARNER, also contriubted $200,000 to Obama's campaign. Is there anyone here, that suspects that we find ourselves where we are, in this race, in large part, because of these media biases? I hear the sound of "President McCain," more clearly and disctinctly, by the day.
