the differance being
Spitzer got caught up in a prostitution scandal which in no way connects to Hillary.
We have yet to see what the details of Vila are.
As for Rezko and Blagojevich, they have direct connections to Obama.

Only Joe Klein would dream this up
Because in the mind of Joe Klein and those like him the lowly, unwashed masses don't really count; only Responsible Party Elders do. So what if the Democratic voters want Obama or Clinton? Those Responsible Party Elders will decide that, for their own good, they'll get neither!
But this would be a disastrous move. In effect it would tell Democratic voters and grass-roots activists, many of whom are involving themselves for the first time, that their choices don't really matter. Then stand by in November to watch the party implode.

What For?
This handwringing about a "meltdown" and "mess" in the Democratic camp is the product of media boredom between primary events and the Clinton group's growing desperation. We had a primary season, Obama sealed the nomination by compiling the most delegates and votes. There is no nightmare scenario, just a split among superdelegates reflecting the dimensions of support for both candidates themselves and a face-off between the senators from Illinois and Arizona in the fall.

"Pattern."
Yes, you're really proving your case, sonofloud.
All you have to do is say "pattern" and list the name of three corrupt figures who know Obama.
Ok, let's try that game for Hillary:
"Pattern:
Norman Hsu
Jim McDougal
Marc Rich"
I'm sure the list could go on and on but those were first three corrupt people attached to Hillary I could think of.

I like it
It may be absurd, but I like it. Gore has credibility around the world because of his climate change work. A very large percentage of those who had voted for him before who do it again. The Nader people could erase some of their guilt. The youth for Obama would go along. Obama could get experience and run in 4 years if they made such an agreement. Gore has military experience. I think Gore-Obama would be unbeatable. And as to the white man argument--this isn't white man--I don't think this would work with Biden or Edwards--this is a white man who was elected to the presidency by the popular vote and never got to serve. That argument goes a long way.

@sonofloud
You keep bleating out names of people that you think are going to take down Obama's credibility.
Not good enough. The Rezko thing is asked and answered. Read the Chicago Tribune from two Sundays ago.
I have no idea what you're trying to tie Obama to w/r/t Blago, so some context would be nice (unless you really are just one of those GOP trolls that used to shout "Whitewater!" every time someone mentioned the name Clinton)
And if Gov. Vila's problems have anything to do with Obama, please provide some information, because the fact that she has been indicted is not really enough evidence that Obama is somehow crooked.
But you don't care about that, you're just trolling, I know. I'm just trying to help out some of the newbies.

Dream come True...Run Al Run!
I was just thinking about this today. If Gore is watching this mess between Obama and Clinton and witnessing that there will be permanent scars from the infighting. Maybe Just Maybe he would step in and cut through the Bull!
Run Al Run

It's just a matter of time ...
... before self-congratulatory elitist left-wing intellectuals realize that they themselves, like the rednecks in middle America, also fear black men (even if he's only half and of African lineage rather than descended from slavery).
It's taken this long for some Democrats to start freaking out about not having a middle-aged white man on their ticket.

@sonofloud
Here's the link to Lynn Sweet's blog on the Chicago Sun Times. You'll love her. She hates Obama with a passion and uses any information at all to make negative inferences about him. She keeps up-to-the-minute on the Rezko trial, which is already in its 3rd week (snickering). Her latest crusade is "was Tony Rezko with you when you toured the house?" Read it closely and report back on all the dirt.

Obama
is going to be our next president, you know it, I know it, Clinton knows it, and McCain knows it.

Has Gore Shed Weight?
Cindy Adams has the pulse on this one: He'd need to shed anywhere between 25-40 pounds to get in Presidential form. I haven't seen any public pics of Gore lately. If the pounds are gone, he's up to something. If he's still sharing those sundaes with Tipper, he will just remain fat and rich and a 'respected elder' at the convention, should he even attend.

McCain Can't Win
For everyone who thinks that Obama can't win in November or who thinks that Clinton can't win in November, keep this in mind: If Obama gets the nomination, all of Clinton's supporters will vote for him in the general, and vice versa. All of the neocons will pinch their noses and vote for McCain (who is proving to be just like their hero, Bush). That leaves a whole bunch of independents and moderate republicans who are sick of paying for the war, watching good people die for no reason, seeing our reputation around the world diminish, and making the world less safe. Those people are going to vote Democratic this time around.
McCain is doing so well in the polls right now because he doesn't have anyone attacking him on his crazy views on the war and the economy. Just wait until either Obama or Clinton focuses on him. He will crash and burn.
If I'm wrong about this, I am not planning on moving to another country...

How about...
Clutch Cargo/Obama
Speed Racer/Obama
or
Princess Leia/Obama?
I mean, as long as we're just pulling baseless fantasies willy-nilly out of our collective posteriors, why let the limitations of reality interfere?

Why Gore-Obama? Or Gore-Clinton?
Why not Obama-Gore or Clinton-Gore? That seems more likely, and perhaps what Pelosi was hinting at a few weeks back about a 'dream ticket' that didn't include both Clinton and Obama. Gore could be promised a powerful vice-presidency, like Cheney's, from which to address climate issues. He wouldn't have the pain of leading another ticket, which he has said he really didn't want to do again. By the way, for the nay-sayers, HE WON last time, with LIEBERMAN.
