@ Tom Payne
Amen!!!
Much as i detest HRC and as much as i feel it isnt the change we need. I will gladly vote for her come November if she is the nominee.
If Obama wins and HRC supporters cannot see the wisdom of voting for Obama over McCain, then to them i say, "you're no better and the neo-cons, and every resulting death is on your hands"
I think Obama is clearly the superior way to go. But i am not a child, if what I WANT and what the COUNTRY wants are not exactly the same, it still is in my best interests to make sure we get the helm.
In the future i will seek opportunities to push MY agenda. Thats what HRC voters and Barack voters need to do.
Vote democrat down the line. Then work your ass off to get YOUR AGENDA moved forward.
It really is that goddamn simple.

I love you darlin' but no calling any woman by the name of sanitary napkins. Not done my man. Please refrain. KateTex pisses me off too, but no need to demean any woman by calling her that name. See, even I cannot get myself to call her that.

@ KateTex
Clinton donors are not threating withholding money from Obama, but from Senate and Congressional races as well!!
And I don't have time for a Hillary Clinton pitty party. There's far too many more important things to worry about. I thought she was the tough one. Were we all supposed to just lay down and hand her the nomination? Did anyone say that Obama passed a c-in-c test and McCain passed a c-in-c test? Did anyone say that as far as they know Hillary Clinton is a Christian?
There's enough bull being thrown around from all sides; but it's the "tough as nails" Clinton people who are threatening to take their ball and go home.
If she wins it, fine; I'll vote for her. Even if Senator Obama holds the lead in pledged delegates and popular vote. I'll support her even though I disrespect every aspect of her campaign. Even after her supporters have called me every name under the sun. Can you say the same?
Does the ideology and philosophy of the party mean nothing? Are Clinton supporters willing to give Republicans additional SCOTUS justices, more war, less choice, no health care plan at all, because Hillary Clinton was treated rough?
Are you a Democrat or a Clintocrat?
We have a Congressional seats to expand seats into. Senate seats to win. Governorships to hold and win.
If you look at the election of 2008 and only think of how Hillary can win, it is you who has been brainwashed by the cult of personality, not I.
When you look at what faces this country and you'll still give money to Republicans because Hillary didn't win the Democratic nomination it is YOU who have drunk the kool-aid, not I.
And if you are willing to see the Democratic nominee lose in November because Hillary isn't the nominee, I'd rather you join the Reoublicans now; because its so much easier to defeat your enemies when you know who they are.

I really need to proofread before I hit that publich my letter button!!
Shouldn't write letters while on fifth glass of wine or in anger. I've done both.

Madamfauntleroy and KateTex
Madam is right. that was over the line. I should not have done it, even though I'd done it once before, wrong is wrong. Not again. Kate, please forgive my thoughtlessness. Getting caught up in the argument is no excuse. I deserve the derision that comes from bad manners and poor judgement. I will endeavor to hone to the vital issues at hand. I am, truly, sorry for what I said. Believe it or not, it is uncharacteristic of me. Mea culpa.

Tom Payne, you are a good man. I love you for caring about what is left of our democracy. These are indeed hard times for those of us who have lived through so much of our rights being eroded. Where have we come?

I agree, there's no going back to the moldy oldies. The country wants forward momentum.

One Apology Is Not Enough
Kate, I don't blame you for acting as if you'd been wrong because you have been wronged. It was mean spirited, small, and bitter. I am repulsed by those qualities when I see them in others, and no less so when I find it in myself. I will not defend that post; it is indefensible. If you want this forum restricted to the unfailingly polite, however, I suggest you read, in series, the posts of some of those with whom you share sentiments. They're at least as vile, just less well spoken. If you will not accept two apologies in the space of half an hour, I suppose that means you're without sin. That would make you TexMary. IF so, my homage is long overdue. For the third time, at least, I was utterly and completely wrong, and I am sorry.

@madam et al Contrast
We will have to wait until he is elected to discover Obama's real agenda. And that might be too late, as it was in Germany under Hitler and most assuredly Russia under Lenin. -- Some other crazy poster
Thought I would provide a little contrast on multiple fronts. Yes, there's been a big power grab under the guise of the unitary executive. But that doesn't mean things can't swing back the other way either. And I think a lot of our bad empire building habits are not sustainable anyways. All the work that the neo-cons have struggled to perform to cement American hegemony seem to be only hastening the decline of our Empire.

Greatful These Democratic Supporters Came Forward
My title states it all, or almost all, quite simply who do Pelosi and Reid think they are to circumvent the rules.
1- We have voting that needs to be completed in the rest of the States.
2-The Super Delegates can vote for whom ever they believe is the better Candidate.
They fear the party fracturing, have they not seen the poles. More people are going to abandon the party for McCain. If Hillary loses 28% will abandon Obama compared to 19% abandoning Hillary. Are they crazy?!?, don't they realize if this is not completely played out the Democratic Party loses, if they interfere with the rules set up originally.
