  • Hillary fiddles while Rome burns

She has not persuaded the party to get behind her; she will not win the delegates; meanwhile, John McCain is looking more and more presidential and the Democrats are entangled in an endless loop of trivial attacks which will weaken the party in the presidential race.

Someone needs to pull the plug on this and get wise to the fact that we're running against John McCain. It wasn't that long ago that the Democratic position was so strong that people thought ANYONE could beat McCain; it was our race to lose.

Well, looks like we've figured out how to do that ... Give in to the phenomenal ego of the Clinton political establishment and keep a race going that anyone else, with any other name, would have abandoned before now.

  • @AKA

AKA Smith: "Are you even aware of what Pelosi's position will be at the convention? I say that it is highly improper for her to attempt to influence the superdelegates in any way until that time."

Why do you think so? I mean, everybody under the sun is trying to influence the superdelegates right now.

I think the whole Clinton coronation crew is going into its major meltdown mode.

  • I'm simply tired of

hearing that Mrs. Clinton's supporters, (and now donors) will abandon the party if she is not the nominee.

It's as if someone felt that they were entitled to the nomination and are being denied what is theirs by right.

If they want to abandon the party, then go! Stop making threats.

In every poll I've seen, shows that it is Clinton supporters who will vote Republican more than Obama supporters if their candidate isn't chosen. I'm going to stand with my party regardless.

Those of you who want Hillary or nothing, I make no apology for saying don't let the door hit you on the way out.

  • I have no doubt

Nancy Pelosi could kick her ass.

  • NBC-WSJ POLL: NEW CLINTON LOWS

Reality Zone: "As expected, one of the two major Democratic candidates saw a downturn in the latest NBC/WSJ poll, but it's not the candidate that you think. Hillary Clinton is sporting the lowest personal ratings of the campaign. Moreover, her 37 percent positive rating is the lowest the NBC/WSJ poll has recorded since March 2001, two months after she was elected to the U.S. Senate from New York." Electability? Stick a Fork in the Clinton Campaign. Losing in Pledged Delegates, Losing in the Popular Vote, Losing in States Won, and Losing in Electability. In Trying to Drive Obama's Negatives Up, Senator Clinton is Just Driving Hers Even Higher.

  • @xufa

Has it ever occurred to you that any party which has treated one of its own as disgracefully as the Democratic party has treated Hillary Clinton this primary season, may well not be a party worth supporting anymore? The Democrats have been well nigh spineless during the Bush presidency, not exactly a state secret. This didn't exactly burnish their collective image prior to the primaries. Too, many of us have serious moral qualms about Obama himself, not to mention the nature of his slash and burn (while pretending otherwise) campaign; serious enough to prevent us from voting for him now or ever.

The reckless satisfaction which far too many Obama supporters have apparently derived from heaping derision, scorn, and slander on Hillary Clinton and her supporters, may be all the joy they experience this year. If so, so be it. One thing is sure: they're not going to find a whole lot of Clinton supporters lining up with them at the polls in November should Obama finagle the nomination. And no, this isn't a threat: it has simply fast become a reality.

  • Once Again..............

What do you HRC supporters stand for? Liberalism, progressivism, or Hilary?

Supposedly we have all been- as liberals and democrats- upset over such things as the war, undo political influence by the moneyed and the priveledged, illegal spying, "executive priviledge" eroding the constitution, torture, secrecy, etc, etc......

Yet here are Clinton supporters going crazy for a candidate who is on the wrong side of all these issues.

    She voted for the war

she voted for the bankruptcy bill

she has financed her campaign with rich elitist Pac and corporate money

she has refused to pledge to roll back Bushs "exec priveledge) crap

she stands by mum on FISA

She refuses to condemn torture outright.....

Damn it people, she recently stated she wants GREENSPAN on a commission to figure out what to do about the economy!

    Greenspan, you dolts!

The very guy who enabled the excesses Bushtax cuts that HAVE US IN THIS POSITION to begin with!

Good God people, wake up from the 90s already. WE ARE NOT GOING BACK.

Not with Bill not with Hilary not with Greensapn, nobody will drive the WayBack Machine to 1997.

We must go forward, and a candidate who cant get POPULAR support to keep her campaign afloat, who is beholden to elitist rich insiders, who wont condemn torture outright, who sits on her hands while Bush launches wars and grows the executive power, and who is too busy calling for yet more imput from old Bush enablers like Greenspan to figure out our future is NOT the person we need,

Or were we only against those things not because they were horrible ideas but because Bush was doing them?

What do you people stand for?

    Please, someone answer already.

    What DO YOU STAND FOR?

  • The Only Point, Period

Get the fascists out of the white house. increase our margins in both houses of congress. period. that's it. we can have knock down drag out fights behind doors after those warmongering bastards are out. When the air clears, and it will clear, we can see how profound the damage is, the damage they have done, in part, with our complicity. I speak here not only of Hillary's cowardly lion routine on the war vote, but of the spinelessness of the majority of Democrats in Congress. Nancy Pelosi has more balls than Harry Reid. Anyone can see that. But in order to move anything forward- the war, the economy, the environment- any freaking thing at all- we have to be at the reins. If it's Hillary, so be it. Let's roll. But don't hand me the "I'm a Democrat but if she's not the nominee I won't vote for that black power American damning half breed". Bullshit. Grow up. The art of the possible is not often pretty. Read some damned history. Some of the folks on MT. Rushmore were reviled in their own time. Some of our heroes were murdered for their trouble. Ben Franklin warned us. It's time to choose up sides, and, for once, Widdle Georgie Bushit is right: you're either with us or against us. Vote Democratic, top to bottom, or shut the fuggup. Period. That's it. The rest is straw. Parse, squabble, piss and moan, throw things, but, in November, get you and yours to the polls and pull the lever. Otherwise, it's on you and your adolescent petulance. We already know what the crackers are. The time has arrived to find out what WE are.
