No Fester. The Ikhwan muslimeen still exists today in Egypt, although with only semi-legitimacy granted it by the Egyptian govenment. Said Khutub and Hasan al-Banna are the preeminent thinkers and shapers of modern political Islam. As for Iran, having had two Iranian gilfriends in a single lifetime, I know my Iranscape pretty well.
