We had a brainstorm
"My campaign has come up with an opportunity for a supporter to join me on the Straight Talk Express for a day of conversation and campaigning"
We came up with this wonderful idea right out of thin air. We came up with it ohhh, about a month ago.
Way before that colored fellar did.
We just didn't promote it right away.
-
there are leaders, and there are followers
I know who I'm voting for in the general election this fall...
-
well that settles it
If there ever was any lingering doubt about my support of Obama, it has been laid to rest now that I know that Clinton like Elton freaking John!
(granted, Tiny Dancer was awesome...but jeebus, Elton John?! Gawd! He's terrrrible!)
-
And it seems to me Hillary lived her life
Like a candle in the wind.
(My spine is tingling)
-
Marilyn Monroe
Princess Diana and Hillary.

Clinton's "Raffle Craze" Isn't New
She did this prior to Super-duper Tuesday, as well, when the campaign "raffled-off" two expense-paid tickets to spend the evening with Clinton and her daughter, Chelsea, at the L.A. Debate and afterward.
-
Edwards
Didn't Edwards raffle off trips to NoLa?
And didn't Kuchinich raffle off "dates" in 2004 when he was momentarily single?
-
Kucinich?
Well...if that's how he met his current wife then I should start raffling off dates with me postehaste!
:)
cheers!

@WES: "Like a candle in the wind....
...Never knowing what story to cling to
When the truth came in."

?
Is this legal? I guess they've checked it out. Obama, by the way, was first on this, he did it back in July of last year.
-
Obama's footsteps? Not really.
Clinton has had several raffles in this campaign season. There were one or more to watch debates with Bill, some with Chelsea, and other things in the last few months.
This is a minor incident, but must everything be spun to make Obama look like some kind of a trailblazer? This is really ridiculous.
-
dawn
They are willing to admit to not being first sometimes----The new preacher at Trinity Church in Chicago said in his Easter sermon that what happened to Wright and Obama was a crucifixtion.
-
Symbolism
Lobbyists get access to politicians all the time without having to buy a "raffle ticket" - but they have enough money to just BUY the time. So, I guess it is about time "ordinary people" got a CHANCE (at least) at the same privilege...
It just seems so.....blatant.
-
Hmmm...
If The Straight Talk Express is making stops in places that helped make John McCain into who he is today, how come it's not stopping in South Carolina?
-
Obama dinner raffles
I remember getting emails about raffles like this (with video links to Obama, making the invitation) early in the campaign, well before the primaries. I'm sure if you scour Obama's site, you'll find videos of at least two previous "raffle winner" dinners. This isn't a new phenomenon for any of the candidates, I think.
-
Can't refuse dinner with OBAMA
I was going to log in and send Obama a donation anyway so I am totally jazzed that I will go in a drawing for dinner with Obama. It's a good tactic. For those of us meaning but not getting around to donating- it's a little incentive.
Even the chance of VIP tickets to Elton John couldn't get me to donate to Hillary though.
-
The Clintons Were First
Bill raffled off the cigar.
-
irrelevance
There is an article on this very site called "Obama spends quality time with his kids" there is another on yahoo's page claiming a "genetic link" between Obama/Brad Pitt and Clinton/ Angeline Jolie.
This article belongs with those. All candidate do similar things to raise money.
But I love the not so sutle innuendo that this qualifies Obama as some kind of "leader".
-
I Tell Ya One Thing
Obama does not qualify to be a leader if he hasn't already called that new preacher at Trinity and told him--"Look Dog, when you get filled up with the holy ghost and start yapping, watch out what the hell you say."
-
If I win,
I'm sending WES to get enlightened.
-
If I win dinner with Her Imperial Majesty...
I have two questions:
1) Will I have to touch my forehead to the floor or does mere genuflecting suffice as a symbol of obeisance?
2) When my plane lands, will I have to run from the plane to the car to avoid all the sniper fire?
-
They'd raise a lot more money...
if the prize was dinner with Obama Girl.
-
I'll contribute...
...to any candidate that raffles off tickets and air-fare to a NBA finals game.
-
I know Obama wasn't the first to ever have a raffle
..and God damnit I just donated again last Saturday night, I should have waited. Wow, those jumpers on the bandwagon sure wasted no time. Of course I wouldn't meet either of the other two if you paid me tome in cocaine and hookers. It sure is silly how the two who "have the experience" for day one in the President's office couldn't pull this one out of their collective ass(es) first and leave the remainders to play "follow the leader". Of course the name of that game (had either of the great hawks had the idea first) would have been "follow the status quo". Here at work they have a quaint, bullshit buzzword called "Change Management"; a catchy little ditty that I suppose was invented to make being layed off a more comfortable predicament, I have since added a "the" in the middle of the phrase and it seems to work much better that way, at least for me. I guess I don't need to go into how that applies to the candidates who are the "old timers"/status quo/self glorified liars. Gotta run to my car now, snipers!
-
Hillary DOESN'T REQUIRE a donation for a chance to attend Elton John's concert, etc....
http://www.hillaryclinton.com/action/eltoncontest/
If you don't have 25 bucks and wouldn't give it to her campaign even if you did, here's your chance to meet her and tell her in person how much fun you've had bashing her for months on months on various blogs.
Viva Hillary! Access without paying for it! Go, Hillary!

Wright is the black KKK
Nobody in their right mind would have sat through 20 years of his tirades. Nobody. Wright is point blank, a domestic terrorist.
And whether the Black Panther Obamateur's can deal with it or not, it DOES make him unelectable. Nobody can ever say with a straight face that he has a shot of winning after this.
Not that he did anyway, mind you.
