Get Ready
For president McCain for the next four years.
-
@Jason Wolfe from Newhall
Let's be very clear here, Jason, Hillary had nothing to do with Barrack staying in that backward and homophobic church for 20 years. Neither did anyone else. The responsibility rests solely on his shoulders. I know it has become intellectually easy to blame the Clintons for everything, but Barrack Obama OWNS this problem all on his own.
-
Liar, liar .....
Dear Hillary: No one cares who you would have chosen for a pastor. It's evident that in your desparation to secure the nomination that your comments are becoming increasingly asinine and irrelevant with each passing day. Furthermore, your behavior is very unbecoming for a former First Lady. I cannot imagine Jackie or Eleanor or Rosalind stooping to such nonsense. And what's even worse, you are destroying the Democratic Party's chances for the presidency as well. Really, you are, and in case no one has told you, John McCain's poll numbers are rising as you continue in this idiotic loosing battle for the nomination.
-
This is low
Hillary knows nothing of Jeramiah Wright and Trinity UCC, except the sound bites we've seen over and over. If we are going to condemn a 20 year relationship between Wright and Obama because of a few remarks made a long time ago, none of us could suvive that kind of scrutiny.

Chelsea responds at Q&A
It's none of your business that my mother is an outlandish liar, and a bitter, mentally imbalanced, cuckcold.
Next question.

An Optimist
Let's get some movement going here to get off the pain train...
How do we prevent this train wreck? Lead the way. I am in your movement. Let's start it here, in the Salon pages, to get this twit out of the race. She has dishonored the Democrats enough. Let's get going.

Clinton: .... but "Bill is still my husband."
She may not be "able to pick her family," but she still chooses to be married to Big Bill. Wrongheaded Wright's overwrought sermon is attacked with more moral outrage than serial adultery.
-
Wright
Wright is a domestic terrorist, the second in Obama's associations.
No more need be said. The electoral consequences are ignored at the peril of the foolish.
-
What a value-free candidate!
She wouldn't have stayed with Wright (which few Clinton supporters can even find fault with -- with citation). But she could stick with Bill (a choice), Walmart (a choice), the Family (a choice).
She is a desperate hypocrite. I could point out that I won't vote for her in the general (I guess I'll go Nader), but that's anecdotal. I don't think she can win, though. But at least Clinton supporters will get a president who wouldn't tolerate black anger over 280 years of discrimination -- and when it comes down to it, shutting up those uppity ni***** is more important than: stopping the war; taxing the rich; regulating business; protecting reproductive freedom; restoring our laws; regulating trans-national corporations; etc.
Good work Clinton supporters. Thanks.

Jesus may have been a whole lot darker than I am, but Jeremiah Wright would never have been my pastor.
There is much that is good about Obama's church. It has an extremely liberal outlook, both religiously and politically. It has apparently wonderful outreach to the community. It preaches social gospel, which is apparently quite similar to a social justice approach which I believe is quite consistent with Jesus's message of caring for others. It accepts gay and lesbian people openly.
However, I would have left Wright's church when he spoke so disparagingly of Natalee Holloway, implying she was just a rich white girl vacationing in Aruba who by her drinking and behavior asked to be "disappeared." No rape apologist will ever gain my acceptance.
I would have been out of my seat in a flash at the first "God Damn America!" no matter how nuanced the rest of the message. The insensitivity to the 9/11 victims has no place in the pulpit. Am I a patriot? I don't think so. I opposed the current Iraq War in October long before Colin Powell gave us his pitch, when it was just a twinkle in George Bush's eye. I have opposed the war throughout the war. However, Wright drew an analogy not unlike that of RW Christian preachers whom I have heard say that New Orleans deserved Katrina for its sinfulness or that people in Indonesia deserved that tsunami because they were heathens. Being aroung RW Christians much of my life I have heard this sort of careless speech of God's judgment which ignores individual loss and pain as being only part of God's larger plan. This sort of calling down the wrath of God appalls me, whether the minister that delivers it be conservative or liberal.
From the pulpit, Wright ridiculed the Clintons in a most unprofessional way, especially since he had counseled former president Clinton following the Lewinsky scandal. It is the same violation that if your shrink began making fun of you publicly by name to other people. In addition, his remarks border at the very least on campaigning for Obama from the pulpit, which endangers the tax exempt status of his own church and shows a careless disregard for the importance of the principle of the wall of separation.
What did Barack Obama do? Nothing, as far as we know. On this Easter Sunday, Otis Moss III, Trinity's current pastor characterized the politics of all this as a "lynching" -- more race-baiting. (Barack Obama was wisely vacationing elsewhere.) The better part of valor would have been to focus upon presenting an Easter service that actually brings people together rather than being divisive.
Now Obama claims he has never heard or seen any of this sort of stuff. Maybe he hasn't in the past. But now he has.

Start the Movement to get Hillary out of the race, NOW
How can we, as Democrats, prevent this train wreck? Let's act now and save the Party before she destroys it.
-
@danb
Wright's church is known as EXTREMELY gay-friendly, and he's a strong supporter of LGBT rights. Obama generally is a stronger supporter of LGBT rights than Clinton (he's opposed to 'don't ask don't tell' and DOMA, for example - both B. Clinton-approved policies). Learn a bit before you spout Clinton-approved talking points, or just assuming that because it's a 'Black church' it must be anti-gay.

How is this . . .
. . . hateful bunch any better than the extreme right wing religious fanatics? I see the same hate, the same personal attacks. There is no difference between this psychopathic Obama following and the followers of Limbaugh, Farley, Hannity, Robertson and Coulter. Same hate, same arguments, same sadness and pathetic narrowmlndness.
You are a disgrace for the democratic party, all of you. To defend your two cent messiah you slander and destroy the only man that has given some dignity to this party since JFK took office. Bill Clinton left office being the most popular president ever, and you just turn your stinky asses to him and his wife just to follow this improvised corrupt politician form South Chicago filled with 20 years of hateful preach and ambition to match his gigantic ego.
President McCain can't come soon enough. And the democratic party will rip once again defeat from the claws of victory.
In the meantime Obama finds new ways to compare his white grandmother to the psychotic Reverend Wringht.
