  • @-- red_gti2000

No, the reason to use labels is to de-humanize your opponent. It's also nice to know that douchebags are concerned with my feelings. Thanks for the condescending history lesson. Did you know that the story of "Honest Abe the Rail Splitter" was a media contrivance like "Hillary the Bullet Dodger"?

  • Why do the media use the word "misstatements"?

I think it's possible to misstate a fact or a misspeak, in the sense that you meant to tell the truth but you slipped up. Like, saying "red" if you mean "blue" just because red happened to be in your mind.

I also can understand that CANDIDATES might misuse the word misstate when they falsely state facts.

But why do the MEDIA use the term misstate or misspoke when politicians speak falsely, particularly after they admit to speaking falsely. That's a corruption of the language. Maybe Clinton misremembered, or more likely, she lied, but she spoke falsely. She did not misstate or misspeak.

  • @R Malocchio

Who knows? Maybe, like you, she feels now that the Democratic Party is "... not the Democratic Party as [she'd] prefer it to be...". So she's positioning herself for a 2012 run. It's a logical move. Politics, remember? I've said many times before that I considered Obama's early statements against her candidacy to be "knives in the back". She's probably taken it personally and -- as any politician will do -- wait for a future opportunity to return the favor. Politicians are human too, btw.

Oh, and her argument will be that she's trying to "take the party back" from the ultra-libs. Just like the ultra-libs want to "take the country back" from the Repubs. Who, btw, "want to keep America safe" from "Radical Extremists", etc., etc., etc.

See where I'm going here? It's really not that complex. People are people are people...

  • @siebecker

    "douchebag"? hahaha

Funny, really. I've got a wide grin on my face. You should really get out more. Breath some air, y'know?

  • The World Knows That Pastor Wright Would'nt Have Been Hillary's Pastor

In this statement Hillary spoke the Obvious, "Pastor Wright would'nt have been my Pastor" Now the real question is Who is her Pastor and what are his views?

The establishment has collectively kept the names and Ideas of Clinton's and McCain's Pastor or Pastors hidden from Public scrutny. How can a Fair an Equitable Society allow such one sided coverage of such important issues.

We've heard from Pastor Wright. Now where is Pastor____________________ Hillary's Pastor, and Pastor_____________________ McCain's Pastor.

Please show both Pastors or the Pastor for both during the exact timeline of Pastor Wright's comments.

Everytime a challenge faces the Establishment, they move the goal post. This Evil Group will never play by their own rules.

Why was Hillary in Bosinia in the first place? Who was managing her responsibilities in the Office Of First Lady? Who was caring for Chelsey? Since her activity as First Lady prepared her to be President, were, Mrs Ford, Mrs Carter, Mrs. Barbara Bush, Mrs. Bush, Mrs Cheney all equally prepared as a result of traveling with their President Husbands?

Of course the answer is obvious. No, they were not. Nor is Hillary.

The DNC needs to tell Hillary to step down. She is,questionably, delaying the inevitable. Are her efforts covertly in support of McCain? What's her motive? Why is she not talking about and revealing who her Pastor is and his values, opinions, and experiences for comparative scrutny? Why isn't she demanding the same from McCain?

Alex, these are significantly important issues as porported by the MSM. Plese help the People to secure the answers.

  • This is why I'm sick of the Hag

Yes, I'll write it again, she's a hag.

I've been criticized for this but this is how I feel (hag = an ugly, old woman, especially a vicious one). Clinton is ugly in this campaign because of the way she's conducting herself, sinking so low that I think she'll do anything. She obviously would prefer McCain in the White House to Obama so she could run again four years from now. She's selfish, self-centered, shrewd, ruthless, vicious, lying, deceitful, decrepid. I'm REALLY disappointed in her. I expected more; I NEVER expected this type of behavior.

As each day passes, it becomes more difficult for me to rally for her and vote for her should she win the nomination because I prefer her politics and positions to McCain. I hope this primary BS is over soon, so we have time to regroup, heal, and get down to business addressing why we are much better than Repugs.

This type of behavior has to stop. Someone needs to reign her in lest she do more damage to the Party than she's already inflicted. We need to win in November!

  • Perhaps . . .

    I mean, just perhaps OK??

When Obama is criticized, Salon could address the issue rather than lash out at everyone else? Bait and switch headlines? That's journalism.

It is obvious if you read Salon's columns alone outside the knee jerk War Room there are gross inconsistencies in Obama's story re Wright, is that Hillary's fault?

No. I'm no fan of Clinton's, but Obama lied through his teeth to kick Wright to the curb and save his hide from any taint, this after 20 years of wearing Wright on his sleeve to gain street creds in Chicago.

That behavior was disturbing and examining same is absolutely valid regarding a presidential candidate.

Salon seems to have drunk deeply from the Obama Kool Aid, this after chastising for years the US Press for a lack of objectivity. He's still aviable candidate on my list, but this disturbing trend of excuse his behavior, hate everyone else seems so Rovian I don't know that I can see myself joining with what can only be called the Obamistas.

Which candidate do we vote for? Another election, another set of poor choices from the democrats? Is McCain electable?

  • We always agree????

Sen. Clinton stating he would not have been my pastor is disingenuous at best. Do all Roman Catholics agree with every statement of the Pope?? Do all Protestants always agree with every stance of their leadership??

  • @vanco52, according to a blog on the Democratic webpage, a man named Dean J. Snyder is Hillary's pastor, and he had some interesting comments regarding Wright....

A STATEMENT CONCERNING THE REV. JEREMIAH WRIGHT

The Reverend Jeremiah Wright is an outstanding church leader whom I have heard speak a number of times. He has served for decades as a profound voice for justice and inclusion in our society. He has been a vocal critic of the racism, sexism and homophobia which still tarnish the American dream.

To evaluate his dynamic ministry on the basis of two or three sound bites does a grave injustice to Dr. Wright, the members of his congregation, and the African-American church which has been the spiritual refuge of a people that has suffered from discrimination, disadvantage, and violence.

Dr. Wright, a member of an integrated denomination, has been an agent of racial reconciliation while proclaiming perceptions and truths uncomfortable for some white people to hear. Those of us who are white Americans would do well to listen carefully to Dr. Wright rather than to use a few of his quotes to polarize.

This is a critical time in America's history as we seek to repent of our racism. No matter which candidates prevail, let us use this time to listen again to one another and not to distort one another's truth.
