What did Rev. Wright say that was really that scandalous?
-The 9/11 attacks can be directly tied back to people who were trained and funded by the US government (like, oh I don't know, Osama Bin Laden, for instance).
-It has been well documented that the US government pumped drugs into poor black neighborhoods.
-It has been well documented that the US government performed all manner of fucked up experiements on the African-American community (Tuskegee, anyone?) And that's just the stuff they owned up to!
Is it really that much of a stretch to see why a black man of Rev. Wright's generation would say "God damn America" in answer to someone else's hypocritical patriotism? Were's the disconnect here? If you don't understand it, at least read a fucking history book. Save the fake righteous indignation for someone who doesn't see through you.
