Letters to the Editor

Hillary Clinton speaks out on the Rev. Jeremiah Wright, and the Obama campaign isn't happy.
  • It's about judgment, stupid

Obama's point about Hillary's Iraq vote is that she does not have the judgment to lead, he does. And then we find out about Pastor Wright. So now he's been caught red-handed with a long-term display of poor judgment. And of course, there is his "bone-headed" judgment of being close to Rezko for so long. Is there no wonder why people who are not dazzled by Obama, find him a bit hypocritical? And if so, why do you attack them for reaching a logical conclusion displayed by his actions and words?

Speeches wipe away the judgment issue for some people on this forum, but not for all people. If Hillary had apologized for the war vote like Edwards did, would people stop calling her a liar? A meanie? No. It's just bullshit to think that you would.

Since Obama has been railing about this "judgment" issue for the past few months, his judgment is fair game. Hillary has a right to question it. What she said was relatively benign, but the hypersensitive Obama fans like to conflate it to lying and being mean. Come on people. Why are you acting like 5-year olds and then demand to be taken seriously like adults?

This Salon war room letters forum is eerily beginning to sound like DailyKos; Obama fans post religiously day after day and often rip into any Clinton supporter. The few that have made pro-Clinton posts on this thread are immediately addressed by pro-Obama posters: shamed, made to feel bad, demonized, condescended to. And will be multiple times. I'm sure I'll get something after this post.

@ juneausmog: you made a pro-Clinton post, now I will point out how worthless and wrong your opinion is.

The real question however, is not the judgment of Clinton or Obama; it's our judgment. Are we capable of judging people correctly? Well, many people spoiled Gore's candidacy for Nadar. Then we picked Kerry. Now the Obama/Clinton fight breeds derision and adolescent snarkiness. But my question is, how can I take your judgment seriously when you act like this?
