Hillary Clinton speaks out on the Rev. Jeremiah Wright, and the Obama campaign isn't happy.
  • Preachers and choice

A few things I have noticed as this latest drama has unfolded:

The main talking point coming out of the Clinton campaign regarding this is that Obama could not choose his family but he could choose his church.

I will point out that disagreeing with someone does not automatically mean you have poor judgment for maintaining ties with them. In reality we all disagree but we also all will continue to talk to those people we disagree with.

Secondly, Obamas preacher has his own ideas and thoughts that Obama does not share with him. Essentially, Obama is not some newborn "tabula rasa" that this preacher is imprinting with ALL of his thoughts. We take from people things that we agree with and discard those we do not agree with. (Or at least thats how the adults I grew up around dealt with each other.) Again the exchange of ideas is not a dangerous act that indicates poor judgment. It seems to indicate a willingness to listen to all sides and be open to new and radical ideas regardless of the form they take.

Anyone ever hear the saying, "Don't throw the baby out with the bath water." It applies here.

Finally I do not think this is Clinton's spin to cover her lies about Bosnia. I think it is a dirty underhanded trick to throw mud she knows has a better chance of sticking than anything else she can come up with.
