If you win make sure you ask BO
Ask BO why he and his supporters are hoping that Florida and Michigan voters will not be able to vote in this election.
Barry Obama and his supporters are no different than the Bush fans who supported the Supreme Court theft of the 2000 election.
They're disgusting.
-
@lolcait
Please remind all of us horrible Obama supporters about how Hillary leads in delegates, popular vote, states, fundraising and inspiration.
I reckon that we Obama supporters would be stealing the election since we only lead in the quantity of kitchen implements thrown at Hillary.
Hillary also has that impressive resume that features her harrowing escape from a C-17 in Bosnia.
-
Everyone should spread the word on this ...
... more people have voted FOR Barack Obama in this presidential primary than any single candidate of any political party in the history of our nation.
So if Barack gets the nomination, he would be stealing it.
-
Win a date with Obama!!!
Do the runner's up get an autographed picture and a commemorative poster?
-
FL & MI
"The Florida and Michigan party leaders did this to themselves. What part of the rules didn't they understand?" - That would likely be Mr. Obama's response to your question, lolcait.
I'll ask you the same thing; what part of the rules governing when the states were allowed to hold primaries do you think the state party officials didn't understand?
It seems that Hillary wants to take credit for winning virtual one-candidate races in contests that the others bowed out of in deference to pre-existing agreements. How, exactly is that fair?
-
@mikelx
It depends how you count. By some estimates, more people have voted for Clinton than Obama during this campaign.

Does Obama Girl get to eat for free?
This is a great little promotion by the Obama campaign. I'm going to donate (I wonder what the minimum donation is for participation in this dinner raffle?) and if I get invited to dinner, I will write a piece about it for Salon.com. I will also save a chunk of the dinner food in a baggie and sell it on e-Bay. (Could be big bucks)
As for lolcait, what a sour-puss! You're doing a good job making Hillary Clinton supporters look like twits.
-

Well, I guess if you go back to only counting black people's ballots as 3/5 of a vote, you might be right. Other than that, I have no idea how you arrive at that conclusion.

lost in translation

What I hear:
SCREECHY SCREECHY SCREECHY SCREECH!!! FROTH FROTH FROTH!!!!
(pant pant pant)
SCREECH SCREECH SCREECH!!!

@jebldmm
So are you telling us that Hillary Clinton is leading in someone's estimate of the popular vote? Who might that be?
According to Real Clear Politics, Obama leads anywhere between 710,000 and 820,000. Perhaps you are including elections in states where the elections went against the rules and was declared invalid. Even with that, my declaration still holds true.
-
Minimum donation is $25, which just about anybody can afford
I just donated $25 smackeroos. (I had already donated previously.) Now I've got a chance for dinner with Obama.....fingers crossed! I estimate my chances as being about 1 in 500,000 -- that's better than the Lottery.
I'm going to go watch Willie Wonka and get psyched up for my big win.
-
Gotta hand it to this guy...
When is the last time you've heard of any candidate doing this, let alone one who is running for President? Excellent move, Obama!
-
THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU
Everyone for allowing me to laugh tonight.
Its been a tough day for me and this was just the anecdote.
Especially YOU locait, you're the biggest HOOT on here!
-
Couldn't think of a better Prize?
Now if the "prize" was dinner with Sean Penn, then it would be something.
Obama himself - not so much.
-
Instead of dinner, how about a more valuable prize...
...like a full tank of gas?
-
Win a Date with Obama
Wasn't there an episode of the Brady Bunch where Marsha takes Obama to the Senior Prom?
SQUEALLLL!
-
This isn't anything new.
Obama pulled this same stunt in the past.
You'd think he would change.
-
I guess . . .
. . . . that this type of approach works well for teenagers' fan clubs, sects and cults.
But with whom in NPR would you really like to have dinner? or, who in his/her right mind would like to have dinner with Barack Obama. See where we ended with the "guy everyone would rather have a beer with" . . .
-
@mikelx
Actually, the DNC rules require that the Florida and Michigan delegates not be seated. Rules can't wipe away the fact that millions of people went to the polls and cast their votes. Since "popular vote" is an unofficial way of keeping track of who wants which candidate, there is no "official" way of tallying it. Regardless, I've seen estimates that Clinton won official vote numbers when votes were actually counted in primaries as opposed to caucuses, for which actual turnout numbers are not always available, even discounting Florida and Michigan.

Wrestling with Reality
"Rules can't wipe away the fact that millions of people went to the polls and cast their votes."
-- jebldmm
So, does that mean that pro wrestling is real? I mean, millions of people watch; i.e., participate in, these events. And like with wrestling, anyone paying attention beforehand might know they're participating in something where the result isn't totally on the up-and-up.
Or are you saying that that many people got hoodwinked?
-
Do the DNC rules . . .
. . . require that the Obama campaign block and sabotage efforts by FL and MI for a re-do? That's what I would ask the good senator if given the opportunity. I would have to follow up with something about the double disenfranchisement of the voters of those two states and if by then security hasn't kicked my latino behind out of the venue I would ask about the Rezko real estate deal.
-
How can anyone.....
seriously take the votes that occurred in MI and FL into account?
Clinton supporters are acting like Obama is sitting in his dark castle rubbing his hands together and cackling madly as he feeds MI & FL voters into his cauldron.
Obama is not responsible for those voters not having a voice, the Democratic officials in their states are. Obama is not responsible for the fact that there will not be another vote, it's because no want wants to shell out the money for a revote.
Acting like the votes in those states are indicative of the real outcome had both candidates campaigned is being naive. Everyone agreed beforehand that the votes wouldn't count so why campaign? Obama's name wasn't even on the ticket in MI.
Let's for a second imagine a situation in which those two states had a revote. Do you honestly think that the second time around Obama wouldn't campaign there? He would, and the outcome would be much closer than last time, and Hillary would still be behind.
