"Clinton did very well with the republicans who may have put her over the top in the primary and who voted for her because rush told them to."
This is false, and you should know it. Using the very source your pro-Obama colleague referred us to a few posts back, here's the truth about the Texas primary:
http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/21226009/
Republicans voted for Obama, 53% to 46%. Democrats voted for Clinton, 53% to 46%, which once again shows the real little secret in this election--a majority of DEMOCRATS vote for Hillary almost every time.
and your claim about "you get 2/3 of your vote one way and have to come back to get the other 1/3" just makes you look silly. If that were true, no delegates would be assigned until everyone had voted the second time. No, the plain truth is, four million people went to the polls and elected 167 delegates. Then a fraction of those voters came back in the evening, faced mammoth crowds and chaos, many going home without voting after three hours of waiting in line, others testifying to gross cheating, and voted A SECOND TIME to choose 67 more delegates.
And what was the final result of those wonderful caucuses? The state party gave up just a few days ago, and admitted they couldn't do better than 41%. Isn't that right?
I'll take normal and fair democracy, thanks all the same.
