McCain, Hillary get a Pass; Obama gets "The Treatment"
So much for the press being extra tough on Hillary. She repeatedly lies about something that is supposed to bolster her Commander in Chief credentials, but instead only underscores her casual regard for the truth. And the major press says not a word about it - can't kill the race and the ratings, dont'cha know.
Likewise, John McCain has several "senior moments" in a single day that betray either that (1) he suffers from dementia, or (2) that he lacks even the most basic understanding of Iran, Iraq, and Al Quaeda. Scary stuff. Does the press report so we can decide? Forget it.
But if you are Barack Obama, you get tarred and feathered, subject to a prolonged public flogging, not for something he actually said, but FOR THE WORDS OF HIS PREACHER. And not just for a day or two, but two weeks and counting.
And the MSM wonders why it keeps bleeding market share and respect? Keep it up, MSM, and watched yourselves become ever less significant ever more quickly.

Newspeak
So, "to misspeak" means "to lie without having to use the word 'lie' after having been caught out." Feh!
-
nice spin lolcait
Reverend Wright's sermons were not racist. America, for all its good parts, still contains much that needs to be improved. America as a country exists primarily of the benefit of the already privileged. These may truths you want to ignore, but that's more your problem
And FL/MI revotes really aren't up to Hillary Clinton or Barack Obama. Howard Dean, the DNC chair stated unequivocally that there would be no revote or recognition of those results since they were in violation of the national party rules before all this posturing began.
On the whole, your anti-Obama posts are irrational and immature. I'd say you misspoke, but it's kind of like your candidate: a lie is a lie.

A relief
Frankly, as a mother, it's a relief to me to see actual news footage of her arrival in Bosnia with her 15-year-old daughter and see a small crowd of people, including children, and smiles all around -- no snipers and no one looking frightened.
It means that, BACK THEN, she had enough good sense not to drag her only children into a dangerous war zone.
It's unfortunate that she doesn't have enough good sense NOW not to know that lying about this (1) is bound to come back on you because there were other people there who will remember what actually happened and (2) really calls your judgement into question because of taking your teen-ager with you.
And, in either case, how is flying into Bosnia and meeting with troops an event that would cause her to be any more "ready on day one" -- for what?
The only thing that, in my mind, qualifies as "ready on day one" is the ability to remain calm in the face of difficulty, not over-react and take things personally (see GWB as a negative example here), and be able to draw differing, but wise and well-informed, advisers together and weigh their advice well.
I'd like to see some evidence of that. Thus far, I've seen from Hillary a snarky temperament and an ability to be misled by a number of outrageously bad advisors.

Steve1us on Joan Walsh
Joan only jumps when she feels "victimized" by "typical white person" innocuous comment. Rest of the speech be damned. What Hillary Bosnia and NAFTA lies? Are you kidding? Don't you know that's how victimized typical white pols politic? There is no need to call that out in a "fair and balanced" column from the FOX conglomerate? Come on Steve. Aren't you one of us? Hillary is courting you, especially if you are in PA.

Honesty is sometimes the best policy
This would be less damning if Hillary also took credit for Whitewater, Travelgate and the many questionable pardons.

lolcait
Glad to see you're back from your vacation and back in the basement of GOP headquarters spewing your disinformation like so much vomit on behalf of the dead-enders.
Say hi to WES for me.

Hilliar
Misspoke. A mere slip of the tongue. A self-glorifying lie. Premeditated falsehood. What a pathetic Gollum like creature we can see billary becoming, diminishing (and losing) by the minute.

No one seems to want to explain why
B.O.'s lawyers put up roadblocks to re-votes in Michigan and Florida.
I can explain it for them: BO and his supporters do not want Michigan and Florida voters' votes to count because they know BO will lose in both states.
Everyone here knows that.
Stop pretending you care about DNC rules.

"The most recent primaries were marked by Republicans voting in the Dem primary knowing that they had no need to vote for their guy in order for him to win. That's unacceptable."
I honestly don't find that unacceptable. Its part and parcel with the game of politics, and its a darn good idea. If the Republican primary campaign had been a free-for-all and the Democrat's pretty cut and dried, I planned on registering as Republican and voting for Huckabee. He was the looniest of the bunch and electorally weakest of the that motley crew. Its certainly frustrating watching Republicans play spoiler in the Democratic primary, but that's part of it.
The Republicans were much smarter. They read the numbers, the real numbers, and wrapped up their primary season before any damage was done. Its not like they didn't get pretty nasty with each other, but they recognized the reality when it became clear and they regrouped as a party. The conservative backlash against McCain was really just jockeying for position. The social conservative wing wanted to guarantee themselves a place at the table. Much of the blame for this Democratic fiasco rests on the Democratic party itself. After Wisconsin the party leaders should have stepped in declaired a winner. The numbers were there. Allowing the Clintons to attack Obama when the nomination was out of reach, and, in effect, support the Republican effort in the fall was a deadly mistake. At this point, the election is probably John McCain's to lose, and the Democrats can thank themselves.

@Chanayut
True that.
"We interrupt this 24/7 broadcast of Rev. Wright's crazy talk, for this public service announcement: When Hillary Clinton lies, remember, she is just misspeaking. Now, we return to our regularly scheduled broadcast ..."

Wow, lolcait
Keep practicing, your misspeaking is going great!
Wow, at this rate, you'll almost be as good as Hillary in no time.
You must be a natural born misspeaker, are you a lawyer?
