  • Mark Penn memos???

Jeez, if you're going to post Mark Penn memos without comment, why not just let the Clinton campaign write your posts for you. Save you the trouble of all that cutting and pasting.

  • Old posts...

I'm assuming from the headline that this is a post from January, or you left off the "...again"

Or maybe you meant to say "Clinton goes offensive?"

Regardless, more analysis-free posting of Clinton memos.

  • What does this mean?

"First, disenfranchise voters -- Prevent new votes in Florida and Michigan. Stop voting in Pennsylvania, North Carolina, Oregon, West Virginia, Puerto Rico, Kentucky, South Dakota, Montana, West Virginia and Indiana."

Although I don't agree with Clinton about Florida and Michigan (they essentially disenfranchised themselves) at least I know what she's talking about. But what on earth does she mean by "stop voting" in those other states?

Up until now, although I support Obama, I've had sympathy for Clinton and have been willing to vote for her if she wins the nomination. But watching her thrash and flail and PROJECT all of her campaign's dark-heartedness onto the Obama campaign has put me over the edge. I have now lost ALL respect for the woman. At this point I can't stand her.

Is she angling to be McCain's running mate after she finishes destroying the Democratic party?

    Enough, Hillary. Enough.

  • Once again...

Her Imperial Majesty demonstrates that she is willing to do or say anything to attain power.

It is deeply ironic that she criticizes Obama for a perceived lack of character. From misrepresenting her record on Iraq to the over-inflating of her duties as First Lady, she is not now trustworthy, nor has she ever-- at least in the history of this campaign-- been so.

This is just more tired, old politics of the dying past. How very inspirational. And, sadly, what a telling and appropriate symbol of Her Imperial Majesty's character.

  • @ sonofloud Hillary does not lead

Hillary Clinton leads in the Electoral College vote and the popular vote.

Obama leads in the baffling caucus vote. Who came up with the rules for caucus voting in the first place?

There is no Electoral college vote. Obama is leading the popular vote. You can check here for all kinds of slicing and dicing:

    http://www.realclearpolitics.com/epolls/2008/president/democratic_vote_count.html

As far as the history of the caucus goes, there is a thing called google:

Although the Iowa caucuses are more than a century old, their national impact on the selection of presidential candidates is a fairly recent phenomenon.

    http://iowacaucus.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20061227/IOWACAUCUS03/61227001

There are many reasons to support Hillary. I don't see how the above statement is one of them.

  • RE The title of this post

Shouldn't "goes" actually be "still"? It's not like this is new(s)...

  • STOP

Somebody in the leadership of the Democratic party has to STOP Hillary Clinton before she completely destroys the party.

She is not running on principle any more, she is running on ego. She is really turning voters off. The group that hopes she will somehow maneuver herself into being the Democratic nominee is the Republican party, who would love to run against her -- and who are just lapping up all her attempts to destroy Obama. She's writing the Republican playbook for the general election. It's disgusting.

She has to be stopped. She can't win legitimately now. She probably could figure out some political backroom way to do it, but that is hardly "high-minded" and it will totally disillusion the Democratic voters if she does.

Hillary, you are not going to be the candidate. Give it up. Unite the party. Take a statesmanlike attitude and look to the future. There is a lot you can contribute to your country and the world if you can get over being so damn bitter that you lost the primaries and move on.

  • Is Hillary angling for 2012?

That's the only logical explanation I can come up with for her continued candidacy. She has realized, as many here already have, that the numbers just don't add up for her, so she's going to try to ruin Obama's chances this year so that she can try again in 2012. If this is true, it means that she will continue these attacks for as long as she can (i.e. as long as she is perceived by the public as having a chance).

If y'all have a better reason for this, by all means, let me know.

  • Sorry Hillary

You lost any sympathy I had for your "victimization" the minute you endorsed John McCain (and encouraged your supporters to vote for him over Obama). It's no surprise that twice as many of them WILL vote for McCain should Obama get the nomination (versus his supporters voting for McCain over you). Now that is what I call a real burn-down-the-party success.

  • disenfranchisement

See my previous statement about "disenfranchisement." The Clinton campaign is peddling lies in order to trick the gullible into thinking FL and MI voters were actually disenfranchised (when in reality nobody has any express right to help determine a party's nominee). Expect the same from McCain.

But of course Clinton would be OK with that, since he'll be the only person on the ballot ready to be president.

  • Shouldn't this have been called...

"Salon.com struggles to delay Hillary Clinton's inevitable defeat?"

This isn't news. This is a fucking press release.

  • Righteous outrage

Just love the righteous outrage from Obama supporters who feel perfectly free to throw mountains of mud and bile at Clinton, then pat themselves on the back for being so progressive and openminded, so on The Side of Good and Right and Virtue. If you can't see your hypocrisy, others can - and do.

All along, Obama's campaign has been complicit in the effort to smear both Clintons. Check out David Axelrod's background - he's not exactly seminary material, he's pure old school Chicago and that's about as down and dirty as it gets.

So, get a grip, all ye Clinton haters. You're the reason the Demo party will likely go down in flames in November. But you'll never admit this to yourselves. Like everything, your failures will be Clinton's fault. Right?

  • No suprise here.

She was acceded to every Republican demand since she has been in the senate. She is a bald faced liar. She's acting like a Republican now. It's time to admit that she's a Republican and get over it.

    No more Republican presidents, please?
