Democrats out-fundraise McCain.
The letters thread is now closed.
  • Nice subject.

One drawback: Each Democrat is raising money to defeat the other democrat. McCain's raising money to defeat, newsflash, a democrat. He has a LOOOONG time to worry about fundraising.

not only do we have to go to the well now, but we have to go again in the summer, so we can take him on in the general. And with the economy the way it is, it's starting to look like that well might dry up.

  • Tho' Obama may have turned down "special interests"

The general rule in DC is that the money follows the power. That Clinton and Obama are out-raising McCain says that campaign contributors increasingly think that whatever happens the winning team is likely to be a democratic nominee one way or the other.

Certainly, the Republicans see the drying up or political contributions to Republican candidates and the RNC as a very ominous development -- the smart money no longer backs them. Lets hope that the Dems don't feel obliged to sell the store to people who screwed them when the Repugs were looking at a permanent majority.

  • One million strong

Lets hope that the Dems don't feel obliged to sell the store to people who screwed them when the Repugs were looking at a permanent majority.

If anyone else is concerned about this, might I suggest supporting the candidate who's received contributions from over 1,000,000 supporters, averaging about $100 apiece, while also turning down PAC and corporate contributions?

(Hint: It's the secret Muslim terrorist one whose crazy pastor hates America.)

  • Amazing

how most of Obama's donations were less than $100. Talk about people powered politics.

  • What's more important is $10 per day we owe the 80,000 Sunnis fighting al-Qaeda..in Iraq..

John McCain Obama and Clinton should be more concerned when it comes to money with the $10 per day that was promised to the Sunnis who have been fighting al-Qaeda turning the tide in Iraq and sparing out Troops the looses in hundreds we became so accustomed to and the thousands severely wounded losing limbs and severe brain injury..!

I know this is somewhat off topic but imagine that our greatest success in Iraq since toppling Saddam is in jeopardy due to America Bush and Cheney and the liars and cheats our Joint Cheats of Staff stiffing these 80,000 Sunni fighters for a lousy $10 per day while we can waste hundreds of millions on campaigns or hundreds of billions to Halliburton or KBR those rapists for towels with their disgusting logo on it..!

If you click on my name the URL will take you to this video report from The Real News and The Guardian posted on my blog site at the top, on how some of these Sunnis are already on strike and no longer aiding America and our Troops due to America stiffing them for the promised lousy $10 per day..they need to live..!

A national strike is in the offing by these 80,000 angry Sunnis who now feel America, that's you and me have used and lied to them and we have..!

McCain Obama and Clinton and every other Senator and Congressman or women in our government should be outrages and General Petraeus removed for failing to keep this bargain that has saved so many of our Troops lives and reckless endangering American Troops and the American people.. for a lousy $10 per day..

Sorry if this is too off topic..but this story should be the led in our corrupt worthless news media..

America will lose and the Surge will fail for $10 per day...$10 per day..!

    $10.00...

Right now, in an undisclosed location, there's a group of people desperately trying to figure out how to make political contributions below a certain amount against the law. I'm waiting to see the news reports -- based on remarks by "anonymous DOJ officials" -- that most small donations come from members of shadowy, "terrorist-linked" organizations.

    Half-kidding, half-paranoid, that's me.

  • Money

I wonder how much the Obama campaign is collecting in March. There have been many comments on line to the effect of, "Save it for the general election." Now, with the comments of that stupid preacher there will be a perceived need for much more.

Both Rev Wright and Ralph Nader are just taking advantage of the situation to inflate their egos. If Rev Wright really cared for his people, he would have remained silent. I can understand his anger but not his willingness to destroy Sen Obama. Of course, Hillary is doing the same thing so she can try again in four years. Sen McCain is quite old.

Well, Sen McCain has a collection of nutty preachers.

  • @TJColatrella

About some of the "awakening councils" ending their cooperation with the US and the others threatening to do so, I too was wondering why this isn't featured anywhere in the US media. Haven't seen it anywhere. Strange (or maybe not so strange, the US media don't talk about the real Iraq very often, do they). It does mean Petraeus's strategy is coming apart at the seams, and should be of concern. Maybe the media are shushing it because they like McCain. Then again, maybe it'll be on the front page of all the newspapers tomorrow. Wonder which one of the two it'll be.

  • McCain's loan

Would that be the one guaranteed by the Federal Government? He is such a butt head.

  • THANK YOU WHITE, RICH, LIBERAL, ELITES...

    and nuclear power industry types.
