The World of Candidate McBragg
The World of Commander McBragg
This is the World of Candidate McBragg
Your hair will curl in the World of McBragg.
He fights monsters galore
And then asks for still more
Or so says the brag of McBragg.
When on the hill the marines plant a flag
They may be led by Candidate McBragg.
With a cannon in hand
He can beat any band
Or so says the brag of McBragg.
Fencing and fighting and round table knighting
And slaying of dragons, too.
Shipping and sailing and great harpoon whaling
There's nothing McBragg can't do.
Hunting and trapping and gold miner mapping
And flying to Timbuktu.
Roping and riding and Indian guiding
Candidate McBragg comes through.
This is the World of Candidate McBragg
Your head will whirl in the World of McBragg.
He can do anything
In his world he's a king
Or so says the brag of McBragg.

Well, in fairness...
This actually makes Her Imperial Majesty more of a "combat veteran" than George W. (I'm envious of our troops in Afghanistan) Bush.
Although the sniper fire story seems dubious, at best.

If Sinbad was there
then there was no audience.

The presidency is not combat!
Hey, you know, I think 50 Cent has been shot at a lot - why not make him president, since that is obviously the main requirement. Hilary is obviously (and pathetically) trying to come up with something to match McCain's 'war hero' schtick. Which is unfortunate, because I wish someone would already have the balls to shatter this idiotic notion that combat experience somehow entails presidential ability (and that the lack thereof is some sort of weakness). I like dumb action movies as much as the next guy, but maybe it's time we as a culture grew up and stopped projecting this adolescent hero-worship into the real world. Frankly, from looking at the state of today's military and the stories coming out of Iraq, I want our next president to be as far away from a military background as possible.
-
Great.
Another complete bullshitter. 7+ years of listening to nothing but lies and complete fabrications is enough for me.
Go away Hillary and take your ridiculous combat fantasies with you.

I was wondering who Sinbad was going to endorse.
Now, who's got Pauly Shore's support?
-
Even I'll grant that was stupid
Although I don't think she is "lying". Memory is a funny thing. She probably remembers sniper fire because she felt threatened. Bosnia was not a safe place back then. I don't know much about Sinbad, but he doesn't seem like the kind of man who feels threatened often, and I doubt he would have been the target of any attacks. However, I cannot for the life of me figure out why they would have taken Chelsea if they felt it was dangerous. That makes no sense whatsoever. I suspect this is a case of bad memory.
The odd thing is that this is likely to become a huge campaign issue, while Obama's many memory lapses (apparently, his memoirs contained a number of faulty recollections) are pretty much ignored. Regardless - she was in Bosnia. Was he? Has he ever been in a war zone, regardless of his personal safety at the time? Has he ever been part of negotiating a peace treaty, no matter how small a role? Everybody seems to be falling all over themselves to show that Clinton wasn't a world leader, which she wasn't. She was simply a player in the Clinton administration. Nobody seems to want to look at Obama's leadership experience, or lack thereof.

So...
She took her teenage daughter into a combat zone where she was drawing sniper fire?
Also, shouldn't the head of the Secret Service be fired for allowing the first lady and her teenage daughter into a zone where sniper fire was not just possible but on-going?
Also, shouldn't the people at the State Department who set up the trip be fired for allowing the First Lady to enter into an active combat zone where sniper fire could be expected? Little less other extraneous, non-combatant civilians like commedians and singer?
There's no dishonor visiting the Balkans as a cvilian promoting good will and enhancing the troops moral. That is a noble and time honored mission. What should bother is the will to inflate that into something more, into a "Threshold" moment...whatever she means by that.
And, frankly, she should lose the vote of all mothers for taking her teenage daughter into a combat zone and unnecessarilly exposing her to such danger...if snipers were really active in the area and live exchanges were on-going.
-
That's probably the only time Sinbad's made me laugh.
And WTF is Hillary doing taking her daughter into a combat zone where there might be sniper fire?
Chelsea 2012!
-
I'm Surprised. . .
I can't help but wonder why Hillary is continuing and even escalating this tale. Sinbad's comments as well as the fact of the trip seems to contradict her and make her look like a desperate candidate trying to lie her way to votes. It really isn't a path she needs to go down.
Has he ever been in a war zone, regardless of his personal safety at the time?
-- jebldmm
He has been to Iraq twice as well as having visited other Middle East hot spots like Israel and the Occupied Territories.
-
So was Bill O'Reilly
I can't find the link right now, but Al Franken used to play clips of Bill O proudly proclaiming that he had come under fire during a battle. Was it on the Falkland Islands?
That was just as ridiculous as Hillary's latest claim.
-
Damn you Hitlery!
Truly, the saddest part of this staory is that I actually laughed at a Sinbad joke. Is there no low that Clinton is not willing to drag us all to?

Safety of the First Family
I think the idea that Hillary and Chelsea would be sent to danger zone instead of Bill is a bit of a stretch. In many ways the first family is more of a danger than the President. If a President is shot, we have a system to handle that, but if the first family is attacked, what would the President no do to save them? If you start getting the Commander and Chief's family involved you're looking at a very dicey situation. There is no reason to believe any President would be able to put the good of the nation above the safety of his family. Therefore it is critical the first family be kept as secure as possible.
