"Hillary in the House"

Remind us -- who decided this whole YouTube thing was a good idea?

thank you Alex

Hope springs eternal. If she wins, will they stop?

Thursday, March 13, 2008 12:24 PM

I like it

I'm Obama all the way, but this was fun. Better than that Up With People style one a few weeks ago. Spontaneous. Real people.

Thursday, March 13, 2008 12:29 PM

Political enthusiasm takes many forms...

Truly awful.

How long before someone points out that the lyric "We don't need no bling, we've got the real thing" might be construed as "racially charged"? I'm not personally offended, but hey it's a slow news day. Discuss.

That 70's Campaign

The entire Clinton campaign feels like it is from some weird alternative reality from my young childhood. I see something like this YouTube vid, and I next expect to see Hillary with Mr. Hooper, or on 3-2-1 Contact, or School House Rock.

Thursday, March 13, 2008 12:32 PM

I couldn't get past the offensive beginning...

"We need a clean-up in the White House, and we need a woman to do it!"? Really? Really?

Thursday, March 13, 2008 12:32 PM

oh no.....

It just proves it...middle aged people are not cool. (ha ha)

Thursday, March 13, 2008 12:37 PM

White people should not try to rap

...this almost made me hurl. Who are they trying to appeal to here, the effeminate white dork vote?

Thursday, March 13, 2008 12:39 PM

funny

We need a cleaning in that white house, and we need a women to clean up that mess...? Sounds kind of sexist to me (and tone deaf).

Thursday, March 13, 2008 12:52 PM

A new record for lameness has been established.

We're eagerly waiting for the McCain entry to see if the current record for lamest campaign video stands. But the Clinton crowd has definitely set the standard. That was the lamest thing since Lame went to Lametown for the Lameolympics.

This "Fan" Video Is A Whole Lot Worse

I'll give you a hint as to who it is; the speaker compares Obama to Jesus. Because Jesus, after all, was black.

Thursday, March 13, 2008 12:54 PM

Hilarious

Maybe they can do a song when they release her tax records...hey, where are her tax records?

Thursday, March 13, 2008 12:54 PM

Hillary in the House?

Old stale, stanky, loaf 'o wonderbread is more like it.

Thursday, March 13, 2008 12:55 PM

Agggh!

It burns us, precious! It burrrrns us!

I'm not sure which is worse... that this was recorded, or that it was recorded ON PURPOSE.

We Get Together For Singalongs

Then we go get the kitchen sink and a tire-iron and go looking for the opponent.

Thursday, March 13, 2008 01:02 PM

Just throw your hands in the air ...

... and "point-point-clap-clap" like you just don't care!

Thursday, March 13, 2008 01:05 PM

We're Putting Up Another One In A Couple Weeks

The song is "We're gonna kick some ass and take some names in Pennsylvania."

Thursday, March 13, 2008 01:15 PM

@Asher Steinberg

Getting as much mileage out of the skin color thing as you can? Well rest easy Mr. Steinberg, the Klan and the Aryan Nation are pulling Hillary too.

Thursday, March 13, 2008 01:18 PM

Soon to be followed by the sequel....

Won a Few, But Still a Loser, to the tune of Don't Cry For Me Argentina, featuring the chorus:

Don't cry for me Pennsylvania,

You were supposed to have been a landslide,

That's all I wanted,

Not much to ask for...

Though I'm still second in the delegates,

Second in the popular votes,

Obama, you unqualified but lucky black man,

Won't you, won't you,

Be my Vice President?

Okay, so it's still a work in progress....

Thursday, March 13, 2008 01:21 PM

Wow

We don't need no "bling"?

We need a woman to clean?

Wow.

Racist, sexist, and tasteless* all in one video.

(* the 8th, 9th, and 10th dwarfs, in the uncut version)

Thursday, March 13, 2008 01:22 PM

unbelievable

My particular favorite was that awkward ending where half the people stopped singing and half thought there was another verse.

This is a plant by savvy Obama campaign hipsters, right? This cannot be unironic, can it?

Thursday, March 13, 2008 01:23 PM

Oh. The pain. Make it stop.

I didn't think there could be anything worse than "Hillary 4 U & Me," but they proved me wrong.

Hillary 4 U & Me: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UefSpWGD19k

Thursday, March 13, 2008 01:26 PM

This one's got it all

Tone deaf (people who can't sing)

Hilarious (people without rhythm imitating people who have rhythm)

Sexist (woman to clean)

Racist (we don't need no bling)

Pathetic (middle aged people trying to Rap)

It's hard to believe anyone from the campaign thought it was a good idea to put this out. To whom does it appeal?

No wonder these people take SNL seriously. They have no idea of the difference between comedy and life.

Thursday, March 13, 2008 01:28 PM

Truly Horrible

That was truly horrible. I wouldn't vote for Hillary just to not be associated with these idiots.

Thursday, March 13, 2008 01:35 PM

Bad, yes.

The worst, no. I'll take this over John Ashcroft's "Let The Eagle Soar" any day. As Simon would say, "I didn't believe a word you said. And it was pitchy."

Thursday, March 13, 2008 01:41 PM

Vanilla Ice was bad enough..

...but now, Vanilla Hillary?

Thursday, March 13, 2008 01:43 PM

Oh....my....God

is all I can say

Thursday, March 13, 2008 01:48 PM

Siebecker:

So you're just cool with Obama's pastor being a bigot.

Thursday, March 13, 2008 01:51 PM

Asshole Steinbecker

What's your malfunction motherfucker? Relax and enjoy the video. It's for you man.

Thursday, March 13, 2008 01:59 PM

Alex Koppelman's hatred of his readers

I have a new theory: This video was purposely foisted on us as a revenge-motivated assault on our eyes and ears!

Thursday, March 13, 2008 02:14 PM

Bloody mess

So the Democratic primary has devolved to debating who has the least God-awful music video. Great, can't wait for the many nuggets of aesthetic insights forthcoming.

Well rest easy Mr. Steinberg, the Klan and the Aryan Nation are pulling Hillary too. -- siebecker

And muslim terroists are pulling for Obama. Happy now?

Meanwhile, sounds like Manos99s bit his lip again. What a bloody mess.

Thursday, March 13, 2008 02:35 PM

ugh

"We need a woman to clean it up?" Good god...

Thursday, March 13, 2008 02:40 PM

Hillary is Rush Limbaugh's Sanjaya

Pathetic...on the same day that gold goes over $1000/oz, oil goes to $111/barrel, retail spending drops, and the the stock markets rumble because the Fed's attempt to stabilize the credit markets by buying $200B in toxic mortgage derivatives failed. Word is the Fed took its action to prevent Bear Stearns from going "under." It isn't going to work.

Still bread and circuses on the campaign trail, though.

Thursday, March 13, 2008 03:12 PM

Besides her quarreling and loose-lipped advisors

Hillary needs some songwriters and performers with talent!

Friday, March 14, 2008 02:05 AM

Hillary haters, back out of the woodwork.

What a bunch of assholes you Hillary haters are.

The most telling part of your juvenile trash, is where it comes from: mainstream media, an institution you all pretend to, otherwise, so thoroughly despise. That you're a bunch of hypocrites as well, is not the least surprising.

Not as bad as you might have expected

That was actually kind of catchy. Silly, granted, but it could've been much worse.

Friday, March 14, 2008 09:02 AM

@stevepasek

as an "effeminate white male dork" I'm OFFENDED that you think this song might have some appeal for me! ;-)

Friday, March 14, 2008 09:06 AM

Good lord

You too can be a song writer. Yikes.

Friday, March 14, 2008 10:54 AM

Reminds me of an episode of the Simpsons

...where Homer starts rapping, while Bart and Lisa start pleading with him to stop. If that main guy has kids, it's gonna take years of therapy before they forget what a lame dweeb their dad is.
