Slick Move by HRC
Get Obama to agree to Honor or Redo. Especially since Fla House Dems have ruled out a redo, Obama would be in the position of Honoring the original vote.
I think however given the circumstances of the original vote, honoring it would be patently unfair to Obama, as well as to the voters who, accepting the circumstances at that time, did not vote.

DNC and Obama Campaign
Do not get baited.

Enough with this BS
When is someone going to address the real issue here: that FL and MI chose to break the rules, even after it was made clear this would happen! Other states considered doing the same thing, but were wise enough to back off those plans when informed of the consequences. Florida and Michigan just get a pass? These were elected officials that put these two states in this mess! I'm all for a revote, but only if the states themselves pay for it. Every other state and territory chose to follow the rules, so what, now we're just supposed to ignore that it was the arrogance of the state legislatures and governors of FL and MI that caused all this in the first place? And I'm sick of HRC trying to somehow pin this on Obama while ignoring the facts.
-
Only one real solution remaining
And it's the easiest and cheapest: Convert all of FL's primary delagates to superdelegates and let Clinton and Obama fight for their votes as they are with all the others.
Delegate selection will happen anyway; let whatever local county party process exists determine who the new superdelegates are. The flavor of each district ought to come up fairly well with a delegation that basically reflects the voting will of the populace.
FL is seated, popular will is expressed a some level, candidates are able to make their cases on an even playing field. Hopefully something so simple will be the solution of expediency.
-
If they want to act like spoiled children, then treat them that way...
If the Florida reps will only settle for the results of a rigged election, then tough luck. They knew what the rules were, violated them and now refuse to compromise. Ergo, the DNC should just decide for them.
Personally, I'd opt for splitting the delegates 50/50 and moving on to the next crisis manufactured by Her Imperial Majesty's campaign.
-
The outcome is inevitable at this point
Let the Florida vote count and seat those delegates, it's not going to change the eventual outcome of this contest. There is virtually no way Clinton can get to the convention with a greater number of delegates OR votes, barring a catastrophe in the Obama campaign or if we also count the prior Michigan results. That wouldn't really be fair, would it, since only Clinton's name was on the ballot in Michigan? Or perhaps it's no longer about being fair. Because I don't see any 'fair' way that Clinton has any shot at the nomination at this point.
-
Fairness
Florida doesn't deserve to play the decider this time around. Split and seat the delegates. Seat them, but have them count for nothing. That's the only fair solution in Florida since they refuse to take responsibility for this pickle and vote again.
I have a good deal of respect for Hillary Clinton, but she's getting on my last nerve. Changing the rules at every turn. That's how she's going to win this thing? It's 3zm, the phone is ringing in the White House...and Hillary reaches for the second line to call her attorneys and her pollsters. Blech.

Sham!
There ARE NO "results" to be honored, and it is such a sham that the HRC campaign continues to insult our intelligence by pushing that argument. You can't have election results with one name on the ballot.
It is the voters of these states who have been screwed, and the only way to prevent the nonsense by elected officials would have been by mass revolt. That is kind of hard to get going when most people weren't even aware of the games that were being played, or the consequences.
-
You want the background on the Florida primary fiasco? You *HAVE* to read this!
http://moritzlaw.osu.edu/electionlaw/litigation/documents/Nelson-ORDER12-14-07.pdf
That's the order dismissing the suit brought in the USDC-Northern District of Florida by Sen. Nelson, et al., rejecting both the constitutional and Voting Rights Act claims.
But the most interesting part is the recitation of facts. Read those closely, and note that in all the voting for the bill that approved moving up the Florida date in contravention of DNC and RNC rules (specifically, the FL House vote, the FL Senate vote, and the FL House re-vote on the Senate version of the bill), only 3 votes out of the over-270 cast were *AGAINST* the bill. And these votes were cast even though Florida lawmakers, Democrats and Republicans, new that the DNC would strip them of delegates.
Read it. There's so much misinformation floating around about what happened in Florida, and the truth is likely more galling than you can imagine. Why, Florida? Why must you continue to be the big ol' monkey wrench in our political process?
(Florida sends thank-you note to Michigan for helping spread the blame.)

Option 3
There are not 2 options: there are three
1. Seat the delegates as they are
2. Have a revote (mail, caucus, or otherwise)
3. Hold to the rules: Florida and Michigan screwed up, and now they get to pay for it.
Personally, I'm with #3. You don't get to cry "Unfair" when the rules were known up front. Too bad, so sad. And at the rate things are going, that's most likely going to happen.
Life in Florida and Michigan and don't like it? Time to elect new politicians who will do what in *your* best interests, not their own.

to Dash
That actually is not a bad idea and it puts the ball back on the MI and FL voters to hammer those new "superdelegates."
However it also gives MI and FL much more power than everyone else as the 2 candidates end up in a position of having to make promises to superdelegates who are not really accountable to the voter wishes.
------------
Regarding a mail vote, FL and MI can construct a mailing that takes a 10% sample and THEY decide, not the entire voter population. That would be easier to control, and much more fair.
Or chose a 10% sample of registered dems in both states and they get to vote "live".
--------------
Better yet, the Dems in FL and MI should STAND DOWN on this.
Or, the Superdelegates and all other delegates need to take a stand NOW.
---------------
It just gets better and better.
