Letters to the Editor

A senior foreign policy advisor to Obama's campaign made some unguarded statements in an interview; the campaign was quick to try to take it back.
  • And we call the press biased against Clinton?

An advisor to Obama--not a campaign staff member--reveals her thoughts on Clinton's nutty tactics, apologizes, and that's the story today? Not the fact that Clinton's team really called the Candadians over NAFTA, not Obama? Not Clinton's no-pro-Clinton-path-to-victory-so-what-the-hell-trash-the-Democratic-nominee endorsement of McCain? Not Obama's record fundraising in one month for any candidate ever? Not Obama's delegate win in Texas? Or the fact that there are indeed two contests--one in Wyoming and one in Missisippi--long before the we-really-mean-it-this-time-final-goalpost of Pennsylvania (which does not favor Obama at all, but somehow he'll be labeled "not a closer" even if he closes the margins). It's over, Clinton. Unfortunately, the horrendous media coverage seeking conflict--real or imagined--over substance will continue long after she recedes into the hole she's digging for herself. Issues, please.
