Voters Slap Down Neocons

I think it is significant that the two Congressmen whose agendas are the most overtly anti-neocon have been reelected, both, in a sense, by wide margins. The American people are hungry for political leadership that will repudiate the arrogance, violence, and corruption that has been the hallmarks of the Bush Administration. If other congressional candidates would take few pages from the programs of Dennis Kucinich and Ron Paul there may still be hope that America could once again enjoy peace, justice, and liberty under the Constitution.

A fringe thanks to the media

Calling these two fringe candidates is the final insult. I have no doubt that both would have done better if the media had reported in an even objective manner. Before a vote was cast the media insisted on focusing only on Clinton, Edwards and Obama. In the early debates, they gave way more time to Hillary than anyone else. Then they began grouping the big three together. Then, even though he beat Hillary in Iowa, they declared Edwards dead if he didn't win the next couple of states. Soon, they got what they wanted: the celebs, Hillary and Obama.

While my outlook is better represented by Kucinich or Paul, I think the same thing could be said of the treatment of the others. Dodd, and certainly Biden, would have done better if they'd been given equal time and footing in the debates. The reporting has been awful for the last six months. All celebrity, all the time.

Dennis the Menaced

I'm glad Kucinich endured! I was worried about his chances with everybody lining up to go after him. Hopefully he and Sherrod Brown can work to bring Ohio back on its feet, and back to its senses. It's been a long time coming.
