Once again he talks about the "stakes", a word that must be in his every speech if not his every breath. I think he's not so interested in running the country than in running a poker game!
Alex,
Thank you for pointing out that the president swears an oath to protect and defend the Constitution, not the American people. I have been yelling at my TV for years whenever Bush says this - and he says it a lot - and I have never seen even one journalist or politician correct it. If they did, maybe viewers would think a little more about the price of freedom and the meaning of our Constitution and would not be so quick to give away our freedom for the temporary illusuion of safety.
Am I the only person who thought the Shrub was a little too bubbly? That maybe W couldn't resist celebrating with just a little touch of cheer? And maybe John was standing there grinning like an idiot because he was actually embarassed, and just wanted to run off camera? What a show that was...bizarre!
a strange report ends with a silly comment:
It seems so much easier than impeachment. Just wondering.
Lev Raphael pointed this out earlier. I just saw it on TV. It truly looked like Hitler's famous jig after the Nazis took France. Same facial expression exactly. Somewhat less dancing grace than Adolf.
Did anyone ask Bush, "Would you be less likely to support McCain if you knew he had fathered an illigitimate Black child?"
"Can the Commander in Chief be Court Martialed?
It seems so much easier than impeachment. Just wondering."
And if so, can the right of habeas corpus be suspended?
Can he be imprisoned indefinitely?
Do his attorney's have to give up the right of confidentiality?
Can the evidence of his crimes be withheld from him and his lawyers for national security purposes?
Are we allowed to water-board a confession out of him?
