Back in early February, Jeb Bush endorsed McCain, saying in a statement, "John McCain is a patriot and devoted conservative leader. Like no other candidate in the field, John McCain has made tremendous sacrifices for this nation. He is beholden to no interest other than that of the public good. He is determined and steadfast in his commitment to reducing the burden of high taxes, restoring the people's trust in their government, and winning the war against radical Islamic extremists. It is with pride that I announce my endorsement of John McCain for president."
Jeb's early endorsement was the quid pro quo for a spot on the ticket if McCain became the GOP nominee. Many would say a John McCain/Jeb Bush ticket would be politically unwise, even lunacy, given W's low approval numbers (and failures), but DO NOT rule it out. A McCain/Bush ticket would shore up the right-wing base, bolster McCain in the South, raise the chances that Florida would go to the GOP column in November, and keep the multiple investigations of the GWB/Cheney administration at bay if the McCain/Jeb Bush ticket won the Oval Office.
GWB was hogging the spotlight at his endorsement of McCain today because, in reality, the Bush Dynasty will continue -- it ain't going anywhere, anytime soon.
Remember, there are thousands of people who still think George W. Bush has done a heckuva job. I know hard to believe....but true.
