Crist would support Florida Dem primary do-over

The Florida governor's backing is important, as primaries are funded by taxpayer money.

Florida do-over

Of course Governor Crist says that now! We had delegate "elections" here Saturday and most people that were asked said the same thing. Mr. Please everybody is always going to agree with public sentiment even though he knows there is not a snowballs chance in hell of getting it done. Karen Thurman and the others at the Florida Democratic Party are not going to do this. They really thought this ploy of theirs to call the bluff of the DNC was going to work. They gambled and lost. This group is totally incapable of putting together another primary (or even a caucus as some have suggested) before the end of June. I live in Florida..I know this is not going to happen if this group is in charge of it. Am I hoping it does? Sure. But I have lived here long enough to know better.

Uhhh No thanks

After being spared the onslaught of advertising from the Dem side ( having endured Rudy, Mitt, McCain et al) I don’t think I could take another round of 7-24 fear mongering, which is where this campaign has headed. Both those recent ads from both sides could have been from RudyMittMcCainHuckabbee camps except for the last 25 seconds. Anyone catch 60 minutes last night and the third world volunteer medical teams that are now servicing our disenfranchised….it is sad to see real issues falling by the wayside.

So sweet

Wow, just concerned about counting every vote, eh? So selfless. So democratic. Hmm, when will you be able to get everything prepared for the primary? Say, June?

Doesn't have anything to do with the desire to prolong the democrats' primary battle, does it? Nah.

This made me realize something...

State taxpayers pay for primaries? I guess that makes sense, now that I think about it. But it gives folks like Nader, who want more party involvement in politics, some more ammunition. "Hey, tired of paying TWICE for the Democratic primary? Vote Green."

And, he'd have a valid point to this fairly-anti-Naderite...why should taxpayers who are tired of the two-party system have to pay for their primaries?

Maybe . . .

. . . Barack Obama should have paid for this new primary with the money he spent on TV ads in Florida BEFORE the actual primary, in clear violation of his pledge not to campaign here. Florida beat him once, we will beat him again.

I'm shocked! Shocked I say...

A Republican endorsing a solution where people don't have to live with the consequences of their actions? What else is new....
