Probably not
Ha!
-
Give the man credit
He's got perfect pitch.
-
Probably not
Probably not
Sigh, couldn't he just have said no.
-
you know he could have said...
"SHAME! SHAME ON YOU SEN. CLINTON!"
but he didn't
-
And this, folks, is why Barack Obama will win...
He takes the high road, but doesn't let Clinton entirely off the hook for her campaign's potential hijinks and her nastiness of recent days.
He knows exactly how to handle attacks, and anyone who has worried that he can't should just watch how he has handled all of these recent hysteria episodes from Hillary and company...
-
Take the High Road
Senator Obama certainly responded diplomatically in this case. Unfortunately, I think this latest incident IS reflective of Senator Clinton's approach to campaigning, even if Obama is kind enough to not point that out. One dirty trick can be an isolated incident, two a forgivable mistake, when the attacks reach double digits I think it's safe to say that this is a pattern of behavior. In other words, shame on you, Hillary Clinton.
-
Probably not....
Senator Obama has class. Hillary has ass.
-
probably not
"probably not" = "yes, of course, but there's no reason I have to hammer her about it." Dude has style.
-
That's why Obama is a leader
Gracious, conciliatory, non-demonizing...
-
Damn that Obama!
He always says the right thing and gets to appear like the reasonable adult, while subtly slamming his opponent by contrast.
This above the fray, calm and confident demeanor must drive the opposition crazy. Catch this kindly putdown:
Certainly I don't think that photograph was circulated to enhance my candidacy. I think that's fair to say.
Compare that to Hillary's strident "Shame on you, Mr. Obama," for circulating a largely factual mailer about her earlier positions in support of NAFTA.
Note to McCain -- how do you defeat a guy like that?
Answer -- you don't.
-
Probably not
Probably not= I doubt it (the photo circulation) came from Hillary personally, but she needs to better control her campaign, which is increasingly becoming unglued.
-
About that photo...
Is everyone aware that the infamous photo appeared on two right-wing blogs on the weekend before Drudge posted it? And that it appeared in the tabloid National Examiner in its February 4 issue?
Anybody could have sent it to Drudge, including a right-winger pretending to be a Clinton staffer, hoping to help the Democratic candidates destroy each other before the national campaign so the Republican will have less work to do. It could even have been a terribly misguided Obama supporter who knew that if the photo was attributed to the Clinton campaign, it would reflect badly on her.
Drudge was certainly not going to go to great lengths to verify that the sender was working with the Clinton campaign.
We have no way of knowing who "leaked" it (how can you "leak" a photo that was accessible to anyone with an Internet connection or access to a newsstand well before the photo ever appeared on Drudge?), and there's certainly no evidence it was the Clinton campaign, which in any case has denied knowing anything about it.
Get a grip, people.

Agreed
This is the correct tack to take. Don't get dragged down. More cool-headed and conciliatory talk in tonight's debate. Let her throw zingers. They''l be correctly interpreted as lame within 24 hours.

Good for Obama
Keeping it civil will be the best thing for the party in the long run. Hillary started going negative, after she lost Iowa and she's been losing respect ever since. As the New York Times reports, Hillary intends to go with a kitchen sink strategy.
- After struggling for months to dent Senator Barack Obama's candidacy, the campaign of Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton is now unleashing what one Clinton aide called a "kitchen sink" fusillade against Mr. Obama, pursuing five lines of attack since Saturday in hopes of stopping his political momentum. -
If Hillary is willing to go to these lengths to win this, she'll take the party down with her. How does that translate into good judgement?

The Problem Isn't Obama
It's his supporters. In the general this will become more scrutinized and a bigger problem. He's on the platform talking about hope and change, and his supporters are bitching, crying, and dumping on people.

Classy.
The man's classy, all the way.
"Senator Obama has class. Hillary has ass."
This is not.

Grace Under Pressure
Obama shows characteristic grace. He didn't have to, given the tone to date, but he played it cool. This is good stuff, and shows why he's been winning elections, and why he's going to be a great president -- for all of Clinton's sniping about him dealing with other leaders, like his approach, my sense is that Obama's cool composure and confidence will work well against any number of troublesome world leaders, when contrasted with Clinton's shrill grandstanding.
Speaking of grandstanding (or, in her case, "last-standing") I think HR Clinton's going to come at him with teeth bared tonight; she played "nice" (?) in the last debate, and it didn't deliver any knockout blows for her, so I think she's going to throw plenty of elbows tonight, try to be as hectoring and hostile as she can get away with being. She's got no other place to go than that.
My hope is that Obama uses the opportunity to really open up the debates and introduce new ideas and issues for voters, rather than stooping to a slugfest with the desperate Clinton. Adjusting the tone control on the debate would make her look even worse. He has to know that her back's against the wall, and she'll be desperate to go at him with whatever she's got left in the bag, with a mind to next week.
Barring Clinton falling to the floor and chewing the rug in a rage, the Clintonites will declare it a victory for Obama (and even then, they may still claim the media made her do it, and otherwise explain away anything Clinton does), but all Obama has to do is keep that same cool composure, and he'll come off as reasonable, and she's going to look bad, and her precarious lead in Ohio will erode away.

@Notorious WES
Notorious: "He's on the platform talking about hope and change, and his supporters are bitching, crying, and dumping on people."
anyone else catch the irony here, as Notorious bitches, cries and dumps on people?
