  • Is this why Huckabee stayed in?

And why Mitt (at first) just "suspended"?

    Intrigue?

  • Next In The News...

Mitt Romney de-suspends his candidacy- political analysts are shocked!

    More at 11.

  • Re-Mitt! Re-Mitt! Re-Mitt!

Mitt gave his delegates to McCain. If McCain suspends, and Mitt de-suspends, will McCain give BOTH the McDelegates and the Mitt-egates back to Mitt???

    Oh please, Jesus, please.

  • Seems they've taken her bio down

    Here's Google's cache of it:

  • If the GOP had intel on a Democratic candidate

We would have already seen more written pages on the subject than the sum total of the entire world up through the year 1900. It would be on every news channel 24/7. Matthews would be critically dehydrated from ejaculating too much. Fox news would stop all other stories dead in their tracks. Rush would be on Meth to stay on the air screaming every second of every minute of every day.

No. I say beat McCain to death with this. Literally. Crush him. Ruin his campaign. End his political career. Force him out of the Senate. Wreck his motherfucking life. If he kills himself in shame, that's just icing on the cake. Exterminate him like a bug.

  • The RW Noise Machine will denounce the NYTimes

Too much wiggle room in this piece - the adultery angle actually weakens the rest of the piece. But this will be the only part people will talk about. By November it will be all but forgotten. If it comes up again it will be painted as discredited. McCain will get a pass on it. Just like the National Guard and Bush.

  • And her picture

  • Was anybody dumb enough to think only Clinton engaged in this type of behavior?

Anybody that has a clue who's visited thier elected Rep's or Senator's offices in D.C. wouldn't have to look too hard to see that these guys engage in this sort of behavior all the time. The office staff doesn't consist of pretty young females to meet some kind of mandated quota. It's part of human nature for at least half and/or more of these guys that are obsessed with power to crave getting in the sack with any and every woman they think they stand a 50/50 chance at getting the green light from. With the exception of Larry Craig, men who lust after power also lust after women and more of both just never satisfy thier cravings for either/or.

Gotta wonder if Romney's kicking himself for not hanging around a little while longer. Looks like McCain goes beyond just standing up to lobbyists. If they get him horny, he'll stand up naked to them as well. Straight Talk Express? More likely cheap sex in the back of a limo and maybe even paid for with taxpayer dollars. McCain, I hope you are going to endorse legalizing prostitution because you are starting to look and act more and more like a whore with each passing day.

  • Awesome

Isn't it funny how "Americans are sick and tired of this kind of gutter politics" when it's not the Republicans doing the guttering? But "the American people always want to get to the bottom of" whatever stupidass gutter political crap the Republicans want to dish to trash any Dem, Liberal, or Progressive who has the temerity to point out their hypocrisy, lying, and fraud.

McCain should just tell everyone he has a wide stance, go into alcoholic rehab, and be done with it.

This couldn't have happened to a more sanctimonious hypocrite.

  • "D.C.'s Penn Station"

Do you mean Union Station? There is no Penn Station in DC. Or, perhaps you mean Baltimore's Penn Station?

Plus, I think it's "DC's" and not "D.C.'s". Not sure where the period goes in that last sentence, though.

As for McCan't: the story isn't entirely implausible. Nevermind Keating Five. How did he and that young(ish) wife get together, again? And what, exactly, happened with the first Mrs. McCain? Hmm...

  • Ugh

I'm an Obama supporter, but I really wish that the romantic angle could have been left out of this story altogether. The potential conflict of interest is bad enough, without having to drag yet another politician's sordid sex life out into the floodlights once again.

  • "I'll go out the way I came in."

Am I the only one who can picture a ladies' room bitch fight between Mrs. McCain and Vicki Iseman just like Susan Hayward and Patty Duke in Valley of the Dolls?

  • Thanks, Jabari

You're right -- thanks for the catch, I've fixed the post.

  • the Iseman bio

The Vicki Iseman bio is here:

    http://www.alcalde-fay.com/meet_the_firm/BiosDetail.cfm?id=84

It's still available from the Meet the Firm page, or was just now.

  • Different take on the media reaction

John McCain is great with reporters, always available. I think that familiarity will make the story too personal for them and they will try to down play it because "that's not the man I know!" It will be interesting to see if the late night talk shows he frequently visit or SNL (which he once hosted) will make a single joke about situation which has some comic elements.

I wouldn't be surprised if conservatives went apocolypic, assuming that McCain and the NYT were part of a conspiracy to get him the nomination.

The certainly seemed to be Bay Buchanan's reaction. It was funny because the other pundits and Anderson Cooper didn't seem to procees her reaction and assumed she was trying to say she was upset that the NYT were running an oddly timed smear. Her problem was that the NYT didn't run it sooner!

  • I am so happy to see such solid, investigative reporting for once...

NYT breaks long-rumored story on possible relationship between McCain, lobbyist...

Long-rumored? Possible? So the Grey Lady publishes a rumor, without divulging a discernible source or anyone talking (of substance) on the record, and it's "possible" that he had a relationship....?

I am no fan of John McCain, but this kind of *reporting* stinks.

February 25, Tony Rezko's trial begins. Will the NYT and salon report about Obama's long-rumored, possible ties to that guy?

  • That's what SHE said!

If you're a male member of the U.S. Congress, you have to work really, really hard to NOT get laid in D.C.

By all accounts, the most successful cocks-gressman of his day was the late Texas Senator, John Tower. You had to see this guy to believe what an ugly toad of a homunculus he was: barely 5' tall, tiny little hands and fingers, greasy, black hairpiece, and on and on. But while he was in D.C., he got more ass than a toilet seat. Go figure.

McCain's first wife waited faithfully (one might assume) for him for the whole 5 yeara he was a P.O.W. Her reward for her faithfulness was that he dumped her when he got back home--dumped her for a rich, young trophy wife.

But that was before he even got to D.C., where getting laid is considered a Congressman's patriotic duty, and being discreet about it is considered "bad form."

All of the republican politicians in D.C. are phony, wannabe Alpha males.

Nobody is impressed that you're 71 and still getting laid, John. In D.C., who isn't? You're taking the easy way out, just as you've done all your life.
