Lincoln, et al
Name one legislative accomplishment Abraham Lincoln had in the US Congress or Senate. Oops. Lincoln NEVER WAS in the Congress or Senate.
Name a great accomplishment Harry Truman achieved in the Senate. John Kennedy?
Johnson had grat achievements. He also led us into into of the most disastrious miltary adventures of all time.
But
Who has clearly selected and masterminded the better, more efficient, more prepared and savvy campaign? Hmmm? Speaks to leadership.
Plus
Obama was RIDICULED for his assertions about independent military force against Al Quaeda in Pakistan. Guess what big success story happened recently because the US did EXACTLY what he suggested?
Sounds ready on "day one" for me.
This garbage from Matthews is exactly that and all shallow nonsense. Beware forever "conventional (sic) wisdom."

Even Keith Olbermann was annoyed by Chris Matthews
I saw the segment live last night and wondered how long it would take for Clinton to be all over it. It was kind of amusing when Matthews asked the question the first time and Watson couldn't name any accomplishments. It was pretty clear he wasn't that kind of supporter, but Matthews had to keep repeating the question even though it was clear no answer on that subject was forthcoming. By the end, I felt sorrow for the guy who clearly has no business appearing in an interview situation. Even Keith Olbermann obviously thought Matthews was being a jerk and Mathews made a half hearted attempt to defend himself to Olbermann by pretending he was just being a tough reporter ranter than a complete putz, but I don't think even Matthews believed himself.

@kenkapkk - you've got your info wrong

Sorry, but this war was started by JFK. Yes, Johnson deserves his fair share of criticism for how the WAR went and it was ultimately managed, but this was all started by Kennedy.

SIGH...
Re: "I know sports metaphors are not always welcome here, but this seemed like Matthews giving Team Clinton a bogus call in the 3rd quarter to make up for a blown call back in the 1st quarter. I saw it live, and my first thought was "ah, so here's the make good for Clinton."
They aren't giving anything to Hillary. Wake up and get a clue. I don't want to be mean, but some of you are totally clueless. The media know that Obama will most likely be the nominee and they will now attack him in order to build up McCain. Obama's media honeymoon is coming to an end.

Note for future surrogate's
In such a situation, where you don't know the answer, all you have to say is the following: "Unfortunately, I do not know the answer to that question. That, however, is a failure of mine as a spokesperson, not of my candidate."
This applies no matter who you are supporting. If you don't know something, admit it and take the fall for your candidate. It's just that easy.

Name some of Hillary's accomplishments
One would need to write a book to answer the question on the subject matter, many have. CQ PolitiFact checks candidates statements for accuracy. There is a new post on Hillary's statement that she has been working for 35 years to create change:
Many years of politics and advocacy
Mostly true
Sen. Hillary Clinton often boasts that she has a long resume — 35 years long, to be precise.
"I have 35 years' experience making change," she said in a TV ad in December 2007, and has repeated the phrase, or variations of it, many times since.
Several PolitiFact readers asked us to explore the 35-year claim, which Clinton uses to distinguish herself from Barack Obama, her younger (and less experienced) rival. To examine the claim, we interviewed two authors of Clinton books, Sally Bedell Smith and Suzanne Goldenberg, and we examined bios from Clinton’s campaign Web site, her Senate office, the White House and the Encyclopedia of Arkansas.
In simple terms, any experience counts as experience, but it’s clear from the context of Clinton’s remarks that she’s speaking about public policy experience, so that’s how we have focused our examination. We’ll start with the math.
Clinton is 60, so if we assume that her 35 years were consecutive, they would have begun in 1973 when she graduated from Yale Law School at age 25. That year she joined the Children’s Defense Fund, an advocacy group for children.
But her math was way off when she claimed the difference between her and Obama is “35 years of experience,” which we addressed with this item.
Her career can be divided into four parts: her first years after law school, her work at the Rose Law Firm and as first lady of Arkansas, her time as first lady in the White House and her seven years in the U.S. Senate. There’s little question that her time in the Senate can be considered political experience, so we’ll focus on the other three.

OBAMA Missed the MOST VOTES of ANY Democratic Senator
Obama has only been in the Senate since 2004 and he is the Senator with the HIGHEST AMOUNT OF MISSED VOTES.
How can any person give reason to VOTE FOR HIM?
OBAMA ALSO REQUESTED 6 different times THAT HIS VOTE BE CHANGED FROM WHAT HE VOTED FOR. He had the audacity to state he either pushed the wrong button or voted YES/NO for something that he didn't know what he was voting for.
SERIOUSLY, WHAT TYPE OF PRESIDENT WOULD HE BE, IF HE CANNOT SHOW UP TO VOTE AND THEN WHEN HE DOES, HE STATES HE PUSHED THE WRONG BUTTON.
LETS ALL STOP BEING STUPID. DO YOU REALLY THINK HE WILL BRING CHANGE, SINCE HE HIMSELF DOES NOT KNOW WHAT CHANGE WOULD BE, SINCE HE DOES NOT HAVE THE EXPERIENCE OR THE KNOW HOW AS TO THE GOVERNMENT INFRASTRUCTURE?
COME ON AMERICA. GET OVER THE HYPE. THIS IS SERIOUS AND WE SHOULD NOT BE LIKE PIGS LED TO SLAUGHTER.
