We're working on improving the discourse in the letters section, but we need your help.
  • A second vote for more substantive postings

I know I'm late to the party (go to work, come home, walk the dog, make dinner, then read Salon), but I wanted to register my support for what Alex is trying to do here. I had all but given up on reading the War Room letters section and was prepared to only contribute to the Sunday night discussion of The Wire. So thank you, Alex.

Although, I do want to second the point that Captainlarab made that more substantive, thoughtful and analytical postings tend to generate more thoughtful responses. A post with the with headline:" Clinton: "My opponent gives speeches, I offer solutions" followed by a transcript of Clinton's speech without any War Room commentary or a posting titled: "Can Hillary Clinton come back?" which was your (albeit charming) mug in a video basically just asking if Clinton could come back, are invitations for drama.

From what I can tell from the readers' letters, no one who is posting knows any more about the ins and outs of either candidates' campaigns than anyone else. We should be encouraged through your posts to provide our thoughts and opinions about substantive and relevant issues, not be invited to simply vent our dislikes of a candidate in general.
