  • Reductio ad absurdum.

Ed Gein typefies Wisconsin? That's just bizarre.

Why not bring up Robert La Follette, La Follette, Jr. Joe McCarthy, George Kennan, or Russ Feingold? At least they're involved in politics.

If all of Wisconsin is typefied by Ed Gein, I suppose the "South Dublin Killer" speaks for Ireland, then. (I would hope not, being Irish-American.)

Please, try to keep one foot in the real world.

  • The gutter politics of the Clinton's

When the Clinton's tried to disparage Obama's win in South Carolina because of his race Obama responded by winning Nebraska, Maine, North Dakota, Washington, and Minnesota, States with a less than 10% African American population. When an email somehow "surrepticiously" was sent to Jews across America alleging Obama was a Moslem who was anti-Israel Obama responded by winning the majority of Jewish votes in every single State except New York. When the Clinton's tried to dismiss Obama's appeal to working class people and White Americans Obama further responded by winning Virginia and Maryland and not only the working class and White vote but split the female vote with Clinton. Now Clinton, after playing the race card, the religion card, and the class card, is trying to pit Hispanic Americans against Obama in Texas. The vile, despicable Clinton's are practicing the art of gutter politics and in doing so are not only tearing Obama down they are tearing the Democratic party apart. The American people need to express their disgust with the politics of divisiveness and polarization. That kind of politics will not solve the problems we face with our economy, health care, the environment, immigration, and foreign affairs. I hope the voters in Texas and Ohio will vote for the candidate who most emphasizes the better side of our humanity and who is running an uplifting campaign of ALL Americans working together and that candidate is Barack Obama. Make your voices heard! VOTE!

  • Throw the Latina overboard

When Hillary saw that the Latinos alone would not carry the day she throw the Latina under the bus and now is trying to appeal to more blacks in places like Ohio by hiring the black women.

She is not going to win in Ohio. Blacks, young people, Latinos, gays,Native Americans, progressive Republicas, women and men of all races are joining together to elect a man of the people. Go Obama! Fired up and REady to Go!!!!

  • @ mjkoch: The Gutter Politics of Your Rumors

No. It does not help to have things stated, which are not true.

Maybe it's time to show us you care about the democratic party.

I am so sick of the Obama supporters and their juevenile rantings.

You know, there is a lot I could say about Senator Obama, but that is for you to find out, since you go to great lengths to deface a candidate, who is a democratic candidate.

You Obama supporters really need to grow up. You are bringing down the Democratic Party with all of this useless garbage.

  • Ow-kay

The American people need to express their disgust with the politics of divisiveness and polarization. That kind of politics will not solve the problems we face with our economy, health care, the environment, immigration, and foreign affairs. I hope the voters in Texas and Ohio will vote for the candidate who most emphasizes the better side of our humanity and who is running an uplifting campaign of ALL Americans working together and that candidate is Barack Obama

I am expressing my disgust with the politics of divisivness and polarisation exhibited by so called pro-choice movement. I hope after the candidate, who most emphasizes the better side of our humanity and who is running an uplifting campaign of ALL Americans working together, is a president, we will all work together by praying over the women who had unwanted pregnancies (As suggested by the candidate who most emphasizes the better side of our humanity (and that candidate is Barack Obama)).

    Yours,

    newly converted Obamamot.

  • Hillary's Ad and the amazing Samantha Power

Obviously, the implication of this ad is that Barack Obama is nothing more than a great orator with no substance and that he won't debate because he can't - he has no positions on issues, doesn't know the issues, has no practical policies, blah, blah, blah. This is simply untrue. Go to his website - thoroughly read and analyze his positions for yourself - you may not agree with them but they're there.

Last Friday I heard Samantha Power (a foreign policy advisor to Obama) speak in Virginia (BTW, way to go VA, DC & MD - the HAT TRICK!!). This woman is brilliant - she won the Pulitzer Prize for her book: "A Problem from Hell, America and the Age of Genocide." (She also just published a book "Chasing the Flame" about U.N. diplomat Sergio Vieira de Mello who was assassinated in Baghdad.) She told the story that she met Senator Obama after he read her book on genocide and wanted to speak with her about the issue - apparently they talked for hours and she reported that he really got the issues, knew the issues. After this, she quit her job to intern in his senatorial office.

In her speech on Friday she made it very clear that Senator Obama really knows his stuff, has substantive policy positions, has the ability to implement same and is now - and will continue to be when he is President - surrounded by some very experienced and advisors on all the issues.

One problem with this whole question of "issues," "policies," "substance," etc is that journalists, for the most part, know nothing about issues and so they only cover the process. And they cover it as if they are all sports writers covering the World Series, the "Road to the Final Four" or the Super Bowl!! That is, the coverage in the media is extremely superficial and no wonder Hillary's people think that ads like the Wisconsin one will work.

By the way, as an aside with respect to Hillary's recent shake-up of her campaign staff and money troubles. What's the deal with that?! The woman can't even hire people who can competently manage her campaign and her campaign finances. And her supporters think she can run the country?!!! Scary.
