Factcheck2
You must live in a very sad universe when you think that add wasn't good because it wasn't negative enough.

Hey Factcheck
"Karl Rove, who is the brains behind the Obama campaign"
This is so f_cking laughable its pathetic.
Are you on the Hilldog payroll, Fact?
Maybe not cause then you'd be anonymous.
Or just incredibly stupid.
P.S. please don't respond.
A) I won't be reading this story again.
B) You'll just dig a deeper hole.

Maybe Hillary
Should challenge him to an arm wrestling match. See if he can work up the nerve for that.
Hold on. I thought it was CHANGE. YES WE CAN. The leader declining debates is the way it's always been.
-
Just imagine
if Obama ran a commercial about Hillary's refusal to release her tax returns. I can see it now: "What does Senator Clinton have to hide?". Obama has so many low, dirty options at his disposal right now, and it does his campaign credit that they're not "going there". That earlier pounce on Clinton' LBJ remark was *nothing* compared to what the Obama campaign *could* do if they were willing to go that route.
It also really says something that the HRC campaign has been pulling out all the stops on dirty campaigning (race, Rezko, etc) and it hasn't made a difference. Wait a sec-- scratch that. It actually made me switch from HRC to Obama after South Carolina.

Visualize the living hell of Hill's staffers at this point in time
Her purported temper, her having flatly LOST several primaries, the sense of desperation at what I'm certain she sees as her Mission-From-God campaign -- can you imagine the daily nightmare her staffers are living even as I type this?
The Wicked Witch of the West after meeting the bucket of cold water... melting... angrily... "Oh, what a world, what a world..."
-
It's CHANGE
Until they say "stop whining, that's the way it's always been."

Not a Sports Fan, Obviously
"Please, just get this mess over. The longer it drags out, the more time McCain gets to throw rocks at the Democrats."
Meaning no disrespect, but this is an MSM-sponsored canard thrown out by someone with an agenda.
Time and again we have seen postseason baseball series where a well-rested team who has been assured of a spot in the playoffs weeks if not months in advance has faced off against a team that had to claw its way in at the last second. And the well-rested team gets its head handed to it, because the upstart was battle-tested more recently.
I don't know, but I would be surprised if this isn't the case at least half the time there's such a matchup. What this means is that perhaps the battle between Obama and Clinton is to the Dems' ADVANTAGE. Whoever is the winner, he or she will be more than ready for whatever fight McCain & Co. have to bring on.
In other words, McCain will have to win on his own merits.

This is what she has to do
Pat Buchanan put this well last night. She needs to knock Obama down and knock the wind out of him. The only way to do this is to go negative because her positive "lovefest" display hasn't worked and Obama is getting away from her.
Yes, it's dirty politics and usually doesn't work well, it's the only option she has left. I would expect more of this to come.
-
Even you W.E.S
Can't really see this landing right? I mean c'mon! 18 Debates with 2 more scheduled?!!
In fact, if I were you, I would be mad that her campaign could manage to come up with something better than this. In fact if I had given money to her campaign I would be kind of pissed that she spent it on precious airtime for something like this.

"Karl Rove... is the brains behind the Obama campaign."
For someone who goes by the name "factcheck," you seem to be throwing around an allegation without much of a, well, fact check...

Some Insider Info on Hillary's Staff...
Some of Hillary's paid campaign staff in one of the major states have been calling folks on the Obama campaign, all depressed, and asking if there are any job opportunities on Obama's side.
(Can't say more without compromising my identity...)

"Maybe he'd prefer to give speeches"
Maybe he can stop by a Clinton campaign appearance and treat the people there to a real speech.
She sounds petty and desperate. I also agree with some others here. By the time the first shovel of dirt gets thrown on the Clintons they will have have gotten extremely ugly. It won't work. It won't work for Clinton OR McCain. Like it or not Barack Obama is becoming a cultural phenomenon. Clinton's base is hemmorraging. He's reaching a broader range of voters and winning by bigger margins. I think we're at the point where this sort of petty tactic and any mudsling will just be offensive.
Most likely, the Clinton campaign is in its death rattle, and it won't be pretty.

@ Brian - Seattle
Well put. And hey, who's better to give advice about political knife fighting than Nixon's old speech writer and plague of George I.
The problem I see with her going negative (and still it may be her only hope unless she's got pictures of Obama in a garter belt or something) is that it just re enforces the story line that he is a positive force for something beyond the negative partisan bickering that everyone is sick of and she is just more of the same.
If I were her, I would double down on opposition research and hope like hell something turns up.

Caveat: I'll vote for Hillary in the general election if it comes to it. That said...
I am shocked at how tone deaf the Clinton campaign has been of late. Note to her staff: People think Hillary Clinton is a pill. A party poop. Democrats should, by all rights, be looking at Obama as the spoiler — a man who, Nader-like, invaded the campaign and screwed up what looked like a sure thing. After all, Clinton has essentially been running for President for 4 years now.
Yet it's Hillary who, with every utterance, comes off as the downer, the fly in the ointment, and its ads like this one that perpetuate that feeling. She comes across not as a tough campaigner (she is, no doubt) but as a carping buzzkill.
Bill was the candidate from Hope. Hillary's strategy is to throw water on hope. Wonder how that's gonna work out for her.
