Get a grip Hillary supporters
I'll vote for Hillary with a smile on my face if she wins the nomination, but I hope Obama wins the nomination.
20 debates have either been done already or agreed to. What more do you want? 25? How about one every day?
Furthermore, do you actually think anyone watches that crap? Even if it were hosted by someone who would ask substantive questions, no one would watch them. You think people are going to watch the dog-and-pony-circus-extravaganza-with-pelicans that the likes of Russert and Matthews put on?
Russert: "What do you hate most about America? Follow up, why do you hate our troops?"
Matthews: "Hills, how do you expect to lead the country without a penis? Barry-boy, why aren't you as manly and good smelling as Senator McCain?"
Do you really want your candidate defined by the corporate media? They're the ones asking the questions.

In a debate, Obama has to define his generalities
His speeches talk of grand change but his actual policies are neither grand nor new nor particularly exciting. For example, I heard him say to a reporter that his long term economic stimulus plan was to put money into education. I like the idea, but education doesn't stimulate the economy. See: Computer programmers and India. I waited for more, and the reporter asked if there was more, but Obama went on about how important education is--not a shocking revelation, but not on point, either.

Obama has a tough road ahead
He may be running his campaign in an exemplary way now, but judging by the tenor of his supporters here, that dog won't hunt once the real race is on. Oh, wait--I guess he will unite the democrats who HATE Clinton and the Republicans who HATE McCain.
Seems like he has the HATE vote all sewn up...kind of a sad country if that turns out to be enough.

@ robert lewis : You Have Obviously Missed All of the Debates...Senator Clinton Always Won
Nice try Robert. Hillary Clinton has won all of the debates they have had.
You know why? Because, she is very smart and she knows what needs to be done to get America back on it's feet.
You can just keep on telling Senator Obama to keep raising his finger.
Maybe Obama is afraid Senator Clinton will ask him why he consistently lies about her policies at his rallys.
He consistently takes her policies and switches them to his benefit. This is documented fact, which you can read here: http://facts.hillaryhub.com/

Nasty Ad's???? Ha Ha
As I read through all the comments about Hillary running a nasty ad, I had to laugh out loud....if the poor little poster
guys fans think this is nasty....what will Obama do when McCainsSwift Boat guys go after him, tell them they need to be more hopeful.
He reminds me so much of Jimmy Carter when he became President.... he was going to change Washington too. Trouble is
Washington is very good at staying the way it is and has been doing it a lot longer than either Jimmy or Barack have been there. In one year when nothing has changed, you will all be praying you had voted for Hillary. She at least knows how to work within the system to get things done. Barack has already said it will take him until the end of his first term to get Universal Health Insurance that doesn't cover everybody.....How much longer do you all want to wait?

The speeches are canned...same old thing, over and over and over, but debates...
can bring something new to the discussion. A candidate can have an opportunity to bring a new idea before the electorate in a nationally-televised debate. A candidate can f**k up beyond description in a debate.
So, for me, the candidate who is willing to go toe-to-toe, the more often the better for democracy, on live TV is the braver candidate -- the candidate who is willing to show they have the right stuff.
The candidate who dodges televised debates because he's afraid of losing a lead, is the one who appears less confident (in a reality-based world).

@Stoecky: Perfectly Said.....
Perfectly said Stoecky.
It is unfortunate that the "uniters" have become the "dividers" and they still really think they are the "uniters".
That is all I will say.

'specialist in genocid'
Here come the smart 100-years war for all the right reasons.
The lady, apparently, is not only supporting humanitarian aid to the areas where genocid (by her definition) is taking place, he is supporting direct military intervention. Her rationale is that human rights abuse is not purely internal affair.
I do not argue with her line of thinking, by the way. I agree.
Unfortunately, I also know that it will cost us lives of our soldiers and lots of money. We are also very likely to kill scores of innocent locals, just because it is the price of miitary intervention, and get even more unpopular.
Don't get me wrong, it is very noble to serve as World's police, but I am glad my kids are too young to get drafted.

Let me try this one and see if I can get anything apart from a convoluted answer
Barack Obama is reported as having said that, if elected, he would not have the slightest bother in approving American troops crossing the border between Afghanistan and Pakistan in "hot pursuit" of Al Quaeeda. Did he say that? If he did, does that not mean that he doesn't respect the borders of sovereign nations? If this were to happen, how do you think the people of Pakistan, already a very volatile country with nuclear weapons, would react?
Although it's long after dark, I can wait for an answer.
-
Still waiting for an answer on Senator Obama's reported statement concerning Afghanistan/Pakistan border.
I've had no reply. Maybe my question was rude, lewd or plain embarrassing in an atmosphere of exaltation. "Change" and "hope" are so much more mellow. I'll try again some time.

Lol...the people have a right to hear BOTH candidates?
But back when there were more than two, they didn't. Oh, no, Kucinich and Gravel need not be heard, they won't win anyways *chuckle*.

ezhik2
You write: "now we are asked to believe Samantha Power, whoever she is..." On the internet there are these wonderful tools called search engines, the one I use frequently is called "google." And what I do when I want to find out about someone or something is go to the search engine and type in, oh, say, "Samantha Power." ezhik2 you should try it some time it is really fun!!
