The underdog always agitates for more debates.
It is rarely in the front-runner's best interest to agree.
This debate is over.
-
When the worst thing you can say about your opponent is...
that he's not agreeing to enough debates with you -- after what, 17 of them already -- well, that's pretty unfortunate.
That said, at least she's attacking based on the "campaign" issues, and not anything low-down, character-based or "dirty." (Not yet, at least -- though I assume she and Bill will leave to to their "surrogates.")
Still, the fact that she needs to act like this makes it clear who is the real "leader" and who is going to win.

Say Goodnight Hillary
Please. It's over.
-
Get bent Hillary
Her failure to vote on telecom immunity is an act without conscience.
The Dems had better make Obama their candidate because I've never voted for a Republican in my life and I'll never vote for Hillary Clinton either.
-
I shudder to think ....
How negative the Clinton camp is going to go as their campaign endures its death throes.
Here we go ...
Hillary - no you can't!
-
Funny
That's funny how she has to admit that her speeches suck, by pointing out how good he is at delivering his.
They already pointed out their differences, what's left to debate.
Why does she insist on re-debating the same points.
Maybe so she can accuse the big bad blackman of being mean to a girl.
Wow, is this what a death knell sounds like?
-
"Maybe he'd prefer to give speeches"
Yeah, and maybe she'd prefer to act more like John McCain (which is what this smacks of) than to act like an intellectually curious human...
-
Clinton staffers need to get some sleep
The Clinton campaign has two wonderful ads - the RFK/Chavez spot and the Green Jobs montage with Hillary's nice voice over. Yet they waste their money on something so petty it reduces the candidate to a Little League ballplayer throwing a tantrum. Please Senator Clinton, get some new blood into your ranks. You should be confronting your real enemies, the unethical press and Karl Rove, who is the brains behind the Obama campaign. It's not like the evidence isn't there. See the article I've posted at thecityedition.com for an overview of the Rove strategy and links to other sources.

taking questions
some one can correct me if I am wrong, but I think he does actually answer questions (from voters, not Tim Russert) at many of his appearances. I know I saw video from his event in Alexandria the other day where he was taking questions from the crowd.
my guess is that, yes, he probably does prefer to give speeches. She would too if she were winning.

Safe Bet
It's a pretty safe bet that most voters are sick and tired of debates, after 18 of them, usually moderated by incompetents trying to goad the candidates into arguing. People would rather talk to the cadidates, listen to the candidates, meet the candidates, and explore issues on their own.
It's unfortunate that Hillary is trying to push for more debates. She'd be better off campaigning. They already have two scheduled; enough is enough.
They've both said everything they're going to say in that format. They're not that far apart on the issues. This is now an election about trust, character, integrity, and the vision each voter has for the country he/she wants for the next four years.

Another debate?
The same old questions, the same old answers. At the last debate, Hillary just kept droning on and on and on. If anyone timed her answers, they must have been at least twice as long as Obama's. At this point, I believe she will just try to go negative. What has she got to lose?
Unless we get new questions, with simple, equal time answers, what is the point? I could answer their health care and war points by now. And I am certainly not a politician. Most people have stopped listening.
Please, just get this mess over. The longer it drags out, the more time McCain gets to throw rocks at the Democrats.
That is not good for any of us.
-
Good ad!
But it leaves out the fact that the debates are not that useful, and that more people get to ask more questions, unscripted ones, at town meeting. I think this debate thing is a non-issue.
But I wish people would try to keep the anti-Hillary gloating to a low roar. Obama isn't gloating, is he? If he's your candidate, ask yourself why he isn't. And then, please, stop.

Clinton Wants Speeches
Well, of course you do Hillary. It's called FREE PRESS. When you are short on funds, what better way to get lots of free publicity on major netowrks?
If Obama wants to take on Clinton again within the next few weeks, that's fine. I fail to see how debates in and of themselves will help Hillary since they haven't work gangbusters thus far, have they?
My prediction is that Obama will respond that he needs to get to know "the people" since he has not had the advantage of being in the White House for several years and enjoying that bright spotlight. That would be a good move since Obama seems to win voters as he gets out into communities and speaks with people face-to-face.
-
It's kinda debatable
Run-of-the-mill campaign ad, although it bugs me that they put Clinton on the left, and Obama on the right; it should be the other way around.
Hey, how about a debate on how best to resolve the MI and FL delegates issue? That'd be worth hearing, like their respective rationales on that. It'd be informative, and would certainly reveal differences in the candidates' positions, and how each would best represent the Democratic Party and its values in their stances on the delegates issue.

Not surprised
Hillary has to go negative if she wants to win. Sure she could wait for an Obama slip up but it hasn't come yet and time is running out.
From a negative ad perspective, this one is pretty weak. The last line is really the only thing that makes it negative. I mean c'mon, they have had 18 debates with 2 more scheduled, I wouldn't exactly say that's ducking debates.
I guess she is gambling that this won't backfire and be seen as a desperate ploy to try and take a swipe at Obama and get free media at the same time.
Still, pretty weak.
Oh and by the way, any candidate would do this and if they didn't they wouldn't be trying so don't anyone get to huffy about Hillary doing it.
I support Obama and I am glad he is ahead (for now) but this is well within bounds of reasonable and does not prove that Hillary is any better or worse than any other candidate.
