  • Another betting question for the Texas primary...

Who will be the first candidate to butcher the Spanish language in the mad dash to pander to Hispanic voters? What are the odds on this? Anyone?

First to order the El Presidente at Guero's in Austin?

As someone who lives in Chicago, and is an Obama supporter, and follows local politics, here's the Rezko story . . .

He's a crook. He's a crook who gave money and did favors for politicians in the expectation of access and that he would get a return on his investment!

And he gave to Obama's campaigns and Obama was tight with him. it doesn't appear that he gained anything from it but perhaps that is because they just caught him too early.

OH MY GOD!! ARE YOU SHOCKED YET???

Also, Obama supported Todd Stroger for Cook County Board President, a job long held by his father and a job which he referred to as his "Christmas present" on election night.

So, yes, Obama, as a Chicago politician has laid down with a few dogs (including Exelon) and might have some fleas. Hell you should see what hizzoner the mayor has gotten away with over the years.

And you can also bet that both the Chicago Tribune (a republican newspaper) and the Chicago Sun-Times (endorsed Obama but many columnists are Hillary supporters) are digging as frantically as they can for something.

So there you go. Now, um, about those Hillary tax returns?

  • 6stringer, sweet girl, and the rest

No. This is easy. In bizarro world a candidate can release their tax return and once the media and rivals review it and find nothing there move on. In reality world, anyone from Chris Matthews, Obama and on down will look to make the returns an issue. Even if nothing is there, they will want to make it look like something is there, as in what Obama is doing right now. Imagine what he would do if he had line 43 or some business expense to blow into nothing? Look, it really is this simple. If you are in Obama's camp or a media hater, you have a few choices, delve into Obama's financial issues which is where you do not want to go, continue to deal with issues raised by Hillary, which you don't want to do because you don't want her controlling the debate, or make a scandal out of a non issue. Oddly, know one, not even Hillary is asking Obama to release his returns, and he sure hasn't volunteered them. But to have the joy of either finding some nugget to twist in hundreds of lines of financial documents, or better yet, creating evidence based on the lack of evidence (the fact we have no evidence of WMDs is not evidence of no WMDS. Heard that chestnut?) is just too easy.

  • "I have liquidated all of my holdings. I'm holding everything in cash so that there's not even a question of conflict."

And Bill's holdings? Are they all in cash, also? Really, a decent lawyer knows never to ask a question they don't know the answer to and never bring up anything that begs a follow up question.

Anonymous: Please use an indentifiable tag so we don't think all the rather rabid Clinton defense is from just one troll. Unless it IS all from one troll in which you can just say so or use Cythera or something like that..

  • @soopergrover

Hillary should release her tax returns immediately.

Should Obama have known better than to associate with this "crook"? Tell us more.

  • @meffert

I am not defending Clinton. I am attacking Obama. He is corrupt and degenerate slime. Hillary may be too but that hardly excuses his own vast and suppurating iniquity.

  • @ Pathetic (Joejoe)

    Sorry "Dude",

I think that you'll find a majority of adults posting here, at least as measured by chronological age. There's also a few people trying to discuss the issues as they see them, dispite the bile and animosity issuing from some partisans - they know who they are.

I don't think any letter writers will change their candidate at this point, but perhaps a few letter readers will be swayed. Whether they run towards or run away from a candidate based on the comments here is food for thought.

Meanwhile, we should discuss your use of the phrase 'cult Obama kids'.

A cult member is popularly portrayed as someone who is in thrall to a stronger personality, somebody who has lost their capability for independent, rational thought. They are now sub human. So of course they are easily dismissed. We don't have to consider their critiques of Hillary Clintion. It's just the baaying of sheep.

I'm not sure if that's what you meant.

  • To the slow learners in our midst

Rezko and Exela = Rose Law firm, travel gate, Vince Foster, Whitewater, etc.

    All old news signifying nothing.

However, the fact that Clinton is talking about the Obama side of the equation while Obama is not talking about Clinton's tells you all you need to know about their campaigns.

Oh, and enough about the "Obama teens" nonsense. My 75-year-old parents and EVERY OLD PERSON they know in *Maine* are voting for Obama. In their cribbage/baking circles they do not know a single Clinton supporter.

  • @ --Anonymous

Um, obama already released his returns and know one, um I mean, no one found anything.

There is an extreeeeeeeemely simple solution to this. Hillary just needs to release them. She said she is going to anyway after she wins the nomination.

I find that explanation bizarre. Does she think democrats will use them unfairly and republicans won't? Huh?

Of course Obama is pressing this as an issue. He'd be an idiot not to. He probably has no idea what's in those returns. Neither do I and neither do you. the fact that she won't release them is giving him a tactical advantage and he's making the most of it.

You know the kind of things republicans do. The kind of things Hillary said she would be good at and said Obama couldn't take.

  • Cythera: "He is corrupt and degenerate slime. Hillary may be too..."

If that is the best endorsement you can give your candidate, you need to get out of politics.

On the other hand, I think you just made it obviously clear you are a republican troll trying to get a little donkey on donkey fratricide going.
