But, do we want to find out that Obama's mother was a Communist after he gets the nomination?
Nice try at red-baiting. Despite the almost purged history of America, at one point, in fact, a good chunk of American's were openly socialist, communist, and anarchist. In fact, its always been amazing to me how much America was torn apart from the early 1900's to the late 30's, in out and out brutal class warfare. It was in part why FDR attempted to ameliorate these factions by adopting vaguely socialist programs (though he never went as wholesale as Western European countries did).
Many of the children of this era, and up until the late 40's, would form the basis of the Red Diaper baby generation, whose impact would then be felt in the 60's. People should be proud that they come from a lineage of American's that fought for whats right and just. I mean hell, if tools can celebrate their "Confederate heritage" than certainly the children of labor and social justice can do the same.
